Shen's Q and Windspeaker's Blessing

Ok I played a game where I chose Shen support but when I got into game I realized I had the wrong mastery which was Windspeaker's but then I remembered that Shen's q heals teammates but didn't proc the mastery in game

So if I can get an explanation on why this doesn't work because Shen's q clearly states that it heals whoever is attacking the person the Q is currently on

I think it's because allies proc the healing effect themselves on-hit. Might count as theirs, then.

Yeah it should actually proc Windspeaker

I think its because it only gives your teammates higher health regen instead of actually healing them... At least that makes some sense.

I believe that instead of a buff to allies it's actually coded as a debuff to the enemy, which heals people who attack it. If this is the case when you use Shen Q on a jg mob and the enemy attacks it do they should get healed.

As a Shen player myself I was curious about this keystone when I would play support.

My reasoning to why it may not proc is maybe because his q is already a short cool down with no cost?(no mana,so you essentially have your q on hand at any time).

Wait, yeah, this should work the way the OP says. Wonder how it's coded? Probably something goofy.

It only applies on "Instant heals"

HP regen effects do not proc "On heal" spells, because that would make shit like Heimerdinger support bullshit with Windspeakers and item 3504.

I wonder how this works with Kindred, healing enemies more?

It doesn't really matter because shen is much better with the tank keystones anyway.

No it doesn't.

I think there are two possibillitys: Either it counts as selfheal because they proc it, just like procing leonas passive counts as damage they do and not damage leona does.

Or it is coded as hp/5 increase, thus not counting as 'heal'.

Eithere way, i t should be changed to properly aknowledge that shen indeed is healing his allys with it and thus should profit from windspeaker's.

It probably counts as the ally's healing rather than Shen's, just like Leona's passive.

The healing effect from Shen's Q counts as a self-heal for whoever's attacking the marked target; it's not actually Shen explicitly healing your ally so it wouldn't carry over Windspeaker.

I believe that your allies proc it as a on hit effect self heal. Though it would be really funny to end up healing an enemy with windspeakers because of how Shen q works.
