Nexus Blitz is Exactly what League Needs
And no, I don't mean that they should do away with SR ;)
What I mean is that League's standard gameplay is stressful, as fun as it can be. It wears the player down over time, which is a major contributing factor in tilt and toxicity. People get really frustrated when playing, due to the high stakes.
League has always been lacking a stress-free, fun way to unwind without going to play something that's not League.(which, let's face it, is how a lot of LoL players de-stress now)
But what's wrong with ARAM??
ARAM has an inherent layer of stress to the start. That feeling of 'oh god am I going to get something I actually enjoy?' makes ARAM not work as a de-stress for a lot of players. That's not to say ARAM is bad for the game, because it has a huge following and clearly is a game mode a lot of people, even myself, enjoy... but ARAM is not the 'de-stress' that I(and I assume at least some others) need after having a bad streak in ranked.
Nexus Blitz is. It's fun, fast, diverse, and you can play prettymuch whatever you want in there. It has action and a lot of cool STUFF to do. And it lets you get the experience of playing champs you wouldn't otherwise get to play, regardless of the current SR meta - which makes it a far better place than bot games, aram, or blind pick to learn a new champ as well.
With rotating game modes being unreliable(by nature, since there isn't always one up and some of them are just as stressful as SR), League has been lacking a method for people who want to keep playing League, but are tired of the inherent stress built into SR and want to unwind. Blitz fills that need admirably. I feel like my time spent with LoL is going to decrease significantly if Blitz goes away... just because I'd no longer have that 'silly fun LoL experience' that I can fall back on if I'm sucking in ranked.
