@Lyte Simple LeaverBuster Question

So, I'm pretty widely on record for hating the system, but I'm going to leave that out of the matter for now.... I've already talked a lot about the system and how bad I think it is and others will agree or disagree as they wish so I won't create another thread on that...

But I had one question:

Why did you implement the new leaverbuster system to take bot games into account?

Bot games are the games people go to to have fun on your system when they aren't sure things are stable or when they don't want to take things seriously - it's a way to test in a more thorough way than just a custom game for 5 minutes, since bot games are actually a full game.

But more notably, bot games ALREADY HAVE A BUILT IN SYSTEM to account for players who leave the game. For those of you who aren't aware, if someone leaves in a bot game, one of the bots 'afks' and waits in the fountain until they come back. So there's literally no reason to punish someone for leaving a bot game... since the game already accommodates for it.

Given that being the case... why does leaverbuster account for bot games AT ALL?

Ditching a game is still lame, IMO.

The problem with that is the bots only leave when a person leaves. It does nothing about the people that just stand in the fountain AFK.

The old Leaverbuster could - and would - also trigger on bot games.

I didn't hear about it often, but it did happen.

So, I suppose, the answer to your question is likely "because it's the same functionality it's always had."
