Where is the META heading?

So around this time of season I usually take a good amount of time to try to figure out a few things, looking at the overall buffs and nerfs to champions to try and see where the META is heading, but I haven't been playing lmao and I don't really even know what the current META is, 3 weeks since I've played seriously. lmao. Will AP LEE SONG RISE? WILL ADC NUNU TAKE THE FIELDS? WILL MY VIRGINITY BE STOLEN BY GRAVES? All good questions.

If you can find it in your heart to help me out, that would be great!

To be honest the Meta is calling for "Carries" Top lane is now becoming champions that have great Dual ability and can farm easily and safe while building to be tanky. I see wouldn't be surprised if we will see Aatrox Kennen Jax Renekton

Jungle really hasn't changed much just pick heavy engage champions.

Mid also the same pick champions that can farm and just keep tower up. Expecting to see Ziggs Talon Syndra back in the mix

Season 6 is about super focused characters. Super focused full tanks. Super focus full carries. Maybe some very support oriented champs. AS much CC and engage crossing overs as possible.

Worlds is gonna continue to run full tanks top/jg, and the heftiest possible apc or utility (if utility mid the heftiest possible ADC)

I'm hoping to see some jinx after the Ashe/Jhin nerfs. Gragas will continue to be busted. Will probably keep seeing some Zillean unless nerfed or some new mids emerge. Cassio. Vlad will still be a thing.

It's funny assassins lead the polls. Assassins are trash at high levels now. _ Because we lost the old version of the long time controversial Last Whisper and things like Bork were nerfed too (and APs being a subordinate class at the beginning of the season didn't help) if you want to win not bringing a tanky frontline is no longer an option. It was an option in season 5 but no longer. And you can never ever be tanky enough as a team really. It's not tanks are weak; just the opposite. And because you have all these beefdogs running around you need highly specialized carries. If you're not in the super tank or super carry category it's a pick with great great utility then. Fighters and assassins are pretty niche imo._

I just don't see much changing next patch because Riot are turning their focus again to ADCs. AS USUAL. lol (not saying Jhin and Ashe don't need nerfs though)

Too many people care about the META in this game

Also, by definition a meta is pretty impossible to predict since a lot of it comes from people discovering new things that haven't been found or utilized.

Real talk: So many "garbage" champs have ridiculous utility unique to them that it's insane that people write them off as garbage cuz "hurr durr dmg math" and that's not even getting into the fact that people seem to rarely factor in teamcomps as a legit way of making "garbage" champ extremely viable and useful

ADC meta but tanks are coming.Naut, Nunu and others.Tank Ekko is still strong.Shen, Gnar, Maokai is viable.

These are based on my opinion and the new "First Blood" on towers:

Mid game champions and split pushers are currently pretty strong. However, mid-game teamfighters are also pretty good too (Katarina, Kennen, Amumu, Sejuani and Morgana are situational), as well as champions who can push incredibly fast early in the game so they can get an early tower (think Ziggs and Jax). As for bot lane, safe ADCs and healer supports are strong, as dragons are incredibly influential to how a game will turn out, and a kill on the enemy ADC results in a free dragon for them. Alistar is also another strong support for the increased safety.

TL;DR Top: Split pushers/Good champs for roaming (Shen, Kennen, and Jax) Jungle: Mid-game/team-fighters (Amumu) Mid: Team-fighters/strong siege (Katarina, Kennen, and Ziggs) Support: Healers/Disengage (Sona, Soraka, Nami, and Alistar) ADC: Safe with siege (Tristana, Caitlyn) - Generally too strong: Jhin, Ashe

Its a meta where you get damage carries more often than not ranged who can sit safely that split up the utility that tanks and supports have slows and stuns and knock backs roots. all because with the damge current avaliable for everyone being the first person in the fight taking the brunt of the damage feels bad because you dont know if your allies will follow up and even if they do you end up with the bad kd and teased for it.

It is definately not the assassin meta anymore, it was but we have moved/are moving away from that.

The meta is heading towards teamfight/objective control oriented picks because if we look at the state of the game, objectives give ALOT of power in the game right now.

CC is king. Always was, always will be. I'm guessing the assassins are gonna get some new toys, and then the meta will be one assassin, and lots of leonas/nautiluses. Basically, 4 dudes to make sure the enemy stops moving, and one guy to go around and kill them all.

I'm not sure about what champions or roles will be strong, but I'm pretty sure there is going to be a lot of snowballing and 4-5man ganks around the botlane. Which isn't something I look forward to since I like to play adc and it's not fun to have a 50/50 of which team will send the goonsqaud down to botlane first.
