How to climb in silver (rant)

Step 1 : get optimistic about climbing from silver V to atleast Gold V

Step 2: get 2 afk's in a row then think that it's not that bad it probably wont happen again

Step 3: fast forward 2 weeks and you've made it to silver 2 pretty much carried your way

Step 4: get demoted to silver 3 after 5 games in a row where mid feed the yasuo/zed/akali

Step 5: get stuck in silver 3 cause you get afk's, ragers, feeders, inters, bad teammates

Step 6: Uninstall league untill they balance all assasins so you dont get destroyed every 2 seconds

Thats pretty much how my climbing experience went, I tried onetricking riven till gold but you cant do anything when enemy mid is 10/0 in the first 15 mins. My second role was adc but since people LOVE going mage supp I literally have no peel. I'm hardstuck silver 3 and i've wasted so much time in ranked so I'll just uninstall till they balance assassins and lethality

Eh my issue getting out of silver was that period between S4---s2 where every other game was decided by which team had the fresh level 30 that had no clue what he was doing and fed hard.

riot please unflag my accounts for good matchmaking, because that's how you climb apparently

I climbed to Plat with support, so yes must be Riot gods matchmaking RNG intentionally fucking you over.

On a serious note, when i was stuck silver I had the same mentality, change it.

Silver is a free elo, turn on your monitor and loosen your helmet, I guarantee you will win more. (Your complaints are ridiculous because they happen in every elo).

My version:

  1. PlayMain support.

  2. Turns out your old main, is now meta, chose them.

  3. End up with a 36% winrate(My actual winrate, assuming pre-season matches don't count) since your team mates chose champions that lose in every way possible againts their lane opponent( obviously forgivable if the enemy chose after)

  4. Stop playing ranked since you can't carry flamers, inters, feeders, and fresh level 30s. Like really. I played a lot my first 5 months or so before I hoped into ranked just so I wasn't completely worthless. Turns out you can't carry as a support main.

Here is how it goes.. you will always be in the elo you deserve. If you believe you being held from getting out of Silver, do not blame your teammates. Accept the fact that you are not good enough to move on to the next, and try and figure out what you are doing wrong and improve. Re-watch your games, and look for bad habbits. I'm low diamond. I have 9 other accounts that i have gotten through your "elo hell", and there are MANY MANY MANY others that will feel the same way. Unfortunately only 12% of the players are above gold, so i will have a vast majority of the community against what i am saying.

My best advice for you is this:

  1. Re-watch your games looking for common mistakes you make
  2. Watch high elo players on twitch (or watch their game replays and you can study them at your own pace) to figure out their habbits.
  3. Develope the mentality that your teammates are not the problem (low elo this is the truth, i've personally carried 4 v 5's with an afk on our team in silver)
  4. Stick to a small group of champions, and practice them only (normals is great for this). Once you learn a champs mechanics perfectly you can focus on Macro/decision making.
  5. A lot of players seem to tunnel on what they are doing. They dont focus on what's going on during teamfights/other lanes in general through out a match (example being, when they attack someone during a team fight they stick on that player no matter what. someone other than their target becomes priority, and their team focus's them, but because they are tunneled on their original target, they don't notice and potentially lose the team fight, or miss a perfect opportunity to tp bot because they're to focused on farming their lane/getting their tower, and don't notice their laner tp'd bot)

At the end of the day.. some people will NEVER be a plat+ player. It's the truth. that's why it's only 12% above gold, and has stayed there throughout the seasons.

Holiday05, i wish you the best. Hopefully you can do better. If you give up and boost your way to my elo please be on the other team so i can get freelo!

I managed to climb out of silver as a Support main. It's all about playing enough so you learn. On my main, it took me 500 some games to get to Gold. On a smurf, I got to Gold in 70 games.

One thing to try is making a smurf account. I made mine to play with a friend so they weren't matched with low golds, but when they stopped playing, I started playing on it after getting Gold on my main just to see if me getting gold was just a fluke or something (and I was afraid I'd fall back to Silver). Since it wasn't my main, I didn't get as upset when things went bad. Because of that, I think I climbed faster because I knew I was better than this in the back of my mind.

If you are an ADC secondary, learn champions like Tristana or Xayah or Ezreal. They can peel for themselves and thus don't get hurt too much by a bad support. You might be able to add MF in there as well though I don't know how bad the nerfs were for her.

Its true that Riot is sticking A LOT of people who are in no way ready for ranked in mid Silver... and it seems that 51% or greater of them slide downwards after being placed in Silver. For the ones who manage to climb up by actual skill, they will ruin fewer games by being in a low elo cause they will rocket up.

The lamers that are in mid silver just get barely carried, for their wins they dont deserve, then get to an MMR where their team cant carry them and fed, tilt, and then start trolling because everyone who has to have them in a match because (somewhat correctly) tells them they dont belong there.
