Attack Speed is capped at 2.5 attacks per second, but there are a couple effects in the game that can temporarily remove this cap.

Cooldown Reduction is capped at 40%, with a rune that increases it further by 5% (plus another rune that independently lowers the cooldown of your ultimate ability).

Critical Strike Chance is capped at 100%.

Movement Speed has two soft caps. Every point after 415 but before 490 is reduced by 20%. Every point after 490 is reduced by 50%.

There are no other stat caps I can think of, except possibly Tenacity and Slow Resistance, increases to which will shrink as the total approaches 100%. Possible exceptions are Master Yi’s Highlander and Olaf’s Ragnarok, but I don’t know if they manipulate the stat to get their results.

There’s also the diminishing return of Armor/MR. Not a cap but it still makes sure resistances don’t go too far.

That’s only true when considering Armor and MR as part of a budget where you have to weight them versus HP. If you had several thousand HP with no items (Cho’Gath or Sion), then your items should heavily prioritize resistances over HP. Conversely, if you have tons of resistances (Sejuani or Rammus), you’d want more HP from your items.

No, it's just that at some point, getting some HP to back up the def stat is more effective, and usually you need mr aswell as armor so you can't just stack one. But the actuall effect of armor has no diminishing returns.

Immunities don't manipulate tenacity/slowresistance

Tenacity and slowresistence are still capped, in a way. They stack multiplicatively and there are few sources so despite not haveing a direct hardcap, it's still impossible to reach 100%(not sure what the theoretical max right now would be) Same with lethality and magicpen, there is not directly a cap, but since there are ony few sources you will only get so much and not more.

Is crit 100% capped? I thought ashe could use more than 100% due to her weird scaling.

That would be bad because for one thing, if there were only limits to Armor and MR and not AD and AP, tanks would be unviable. And what about tanks like Malphite or who revolve around Armor and usually wants to build as much as possible? If it was capped he wouldn't physically be able to get to his full potential.

There are a lot of reasons I think this isn't a great idea.

This was supposed to be a question, the thread is asking what the stat caps are if there are any caps for stats in the game. Soft caps and hard caps, unfortunately I don't know but maybe someone can clearify for them.

The only cap is to attack speed at 2.5.

I do miss 5.0 attk spd Koggles though

Technically, CDR has a cap, too.

The limit to armor and MR is 999999. Anything after that simply doesn't affect the calculations.

The limit to attack speed is 2.5. If you have some way to break the cap, then, as far as I'm aware, there is no cap.

Pokemonred2002 votes

When Jinx still had infinitely stacking attack speed on her passive, Lethal Tempo's cap removal seemed to stop effectiveness once Jinx reached 90.0 attack speed.

Of course, unless you're a satanist who will play Kindred for 5 days and get their passive's infinite stacking to a really high amount in a custom game, which will give 5% attack speed per stack for 4 seconds whenever they use their Q, that number is basically impossible to reach now.

its 999999 ? wich means i can get all armor items and it will work ? wont i become unkillable ? -_-

Sire Hippington1 votes

If you are vs pure physical damage that for some reason don't use %pen, kinda. But any magic damage dealer will tear you appart as you lack hp and mr, and with conqueror and IE, ADs have easy acces to truedamage. Also, item 3036 item 3071 combine for ~51% arpen, so half the armor you got gets ignored.

If you somehow reach 1000 armor, you still take ~9.1% damage. After the ~50% pen from above, it's ~16.7%. So you still take damage, and with not much hp to back that up, you'll still be quite mortal. And again, if anyone does magic damage, you'll drop like a squishy.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

Nearly. It'd reduce damage by 99.99%, which wouldn't make you unkillable. Just nearly unkillable. Assuming the enemy team has no armor shred or pen, though.

No combination of armor items or MR items will let you even get close to that, though. The highest armor or MR you can hit with just items is 600 armor, from six frozen hearts (100 each). With Malphite and 6 Frozen Hearts, you can reach over 1500 armor.

There is no way to reach that cap for MR. For armor, however, it is possible as Thresh, due to his passive.

Good luck with those two.

Attack Speed - 2.50 (Some champions and Runes have effects that can break this cap momentarily)

Critical Strike Chance - 100%

Cooldown Reduction - 40/45%

Tenacity - I'd guess the hard cap here is 100% also but I don't think that's reachable.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

CDR is capped at 40 or 45% (depending on whether or not you take the rune that increases CDR and the CDR cap by 5%), unless you're in URF, in which case it's 80% (Irrelevant of your runes), or you're in Nexus Blitz with the On Fire buff, in which case it's 65-70% (again, rune-dependent).

Tenacity does have an effectiveness hard-cap at 100%, but it soft caps at 100% instead. Every source of Tenacity stacks multiplicatively. If I have a source that gives me 30% and a source that gives me 10%, I gain (30/(1+0))+(10/(1+.3))% Tenacity, or roughly 38%.

I fucked up.

I meant to put 40/45%

I legit didn't notice it.

There are already hard caps, soft caps, and diminishing returns for everything other than AD, AP, HP, and mana
