Someone said ADCs should stop being mandatory...

No need to worry, even during the time where bot lane was a literal 5 man gank party all game long and ADC mains were whining all over the forums about how underpowered they were, ADCs were still required on both teams apart from a small span of like two weeks where you might see a ziggs on one of the teams.
I kind of agree with them. I think the game would be pretty neat if no class was strictly necessary. If, say, a support and mage bot or a support and assassin bot had just as high a chance of winning the game as a support and adc team.
Think of all the weird combinations we could have. It’d be awesome.
Because of that? You must be great at parties. [slayer-jinx-wink]
i wouldn't mind adc's if they actually did sustained damage like they are SUPPOSED to. but as a burst mage/ assassin.. its quite annoying they they burst me down before i can burst them down even when i land a max range spear in a 1v1
Now tell them melee top laners shouldn't be mandatory and that top lane should be for champs like Liss/Ryze/Kennen/Quinn/Jayce/etc and watch those same people loose their shit.
People are bias against what they don't play, this isn't new.
Why? What makes marksman so damn special to incite such a violent, internal response?

Xayah maine detected.
Is there any absolute rule in the game telling you that if you pick bot you can only pick marksmen? I am pretty sure there is not because you can pick any champion in any role you select and are put in.
If you want to go melee bot adc or mage bot carry go for it. So many options to choose from. That is what makes the game fun by having that unique type of variety. Adc as a marksman was never mandatory. It is just the popular norm and not an official rule. Just because something is popular does not mean it is part of the base foundation rules of the game. For example this extremely annoying Ardent Censer meta thing... you do not need to build ardent censer nor do you need to pick an ardent censer type support if you are supporting... I have seen so many people lock in Janna obviously having the mindset just pick Janna = win and do not do LITERALLY anything to help their adcs in lane expecting to win and blame the adc for being bad... Just because something is deemed OP or is genuinely OP even if you are very stupid for lack of a better term you still have to actually PLAY the game. The popularized marksmen adc meta is not absolute law in the game. What matters most is a player picking a champ he/she knows how to play and their general game knowledge, combine those two things and you have a very good player = it does not matter who you pick for what position as long as you know what you are doing and that would be better than picking something some random conformist is pressuring you to play because it is supposedly "better".
And people like you is why next to nobody likes marksmen mains.
