Is Twitch a Good Champion to Main/Soloq?

Trying a regimen of champion maining through SummonerSchool, and chose 3 champs for each of my two main roles for the purpose of getting better in ranked.

Champs for ADC: Tristana Twitch Jinx Champs for Jungle: Diana MonkeyKing Sejuani

I chose them because I liked their personalities/characters and not on the basis of whether or not I could carry with them, as was stipulated by the guideline for choosing champions to main in the regimen. So far not having much success with Twitch/Jinx. Any assistance with how I should be playing each? (Also putting in mind that general questions lead to bland general answers).

EDIT: So the general gist I'm getting from this post is that Twitch and Jinx are poor choices for me. On the one hand I don't want to abandon them entirely, but on the other hand I AM getting burned out on losing/AFKing with them. Tristana, I have loads more experience with. Other problem I'm having is that I feel like I'm obligated to stick with Twitch and Jinx, since I've indicated them as my ADC roster and I'm supposed to play only them and the other four in Ranked for the next 30 days. Not that it's wholly binding, but I'm at a loss as to who I should go with next. I don't know who I lean more towards, since habitually I'm the kind of person who tends to give up after getting burned out.

hes super fun, but team reliant, you wont be making any big LCS plays by yourself on twitch.

i love him.

On twitch you won't be doing much until you have 2-3 items so basically farm until that point. you need to position extremely well with him. my build for him is a bf sword (which you keep until late game for an ie. you get it early for damage). then i get shiv or rapidfire cannon (usually the rapidfire), then ghostblade, then bork, then you finish the ie. the last item depends on what you need. GA, maw, BT, phantom dancer, banshee's, whatever you need for the game. once you have a ghostblade and a zeal item, you will be doing pretty good damage in teamfights. you can also 1v1 any adc IF you catch them out with your q. without your q, don't try to fight anyone, they'll usually beat you (unless they're 0-3 and you're 3-0 or something, but even then they'll probably run if you don't q up to them)

I could recommend you to do this:

  • Always try to get the red buff from your jungler or the enemy jungler.

  • Time and ward the enemy jungler buffs, always try to gank him when on low HP, do not upgrade your item 3361 to item 3363.

  • Add a item 3022 somewhere in your build to prevent enemies that are far from your ult from scaping, add a item 1305 -item 1300 boots to the equation, and maybe a item 3078, don't waste slots on items that don't grant AD, you also want the CDR to spam your ult whenever you can.

  • item 3085 this is CORE on him, and for the way his passive and E works item 3071 is a good option on him.

  • If you ever grow to be a good Twitch main stop using summoner 7 and use summoner 14, play as an assasin and be an opportunist.

  • ALWAYS in a gank you must wait for the enemy to spend their CC because they will go after you unless you have a tanky like build: item 3071 item 3078 item 3022 grant good amounts of life, survivability and utility for that purpose.

  • Fervor of Battle is CORE, always take it.

can you see my custom item? I've made an icon for it! http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/buOIBEzA-the-phoenixs-talon-icon-made-by-me-3

Twitch? I would say no. His laning phase is extremely weak and passive. His ability to pump out damage later in the game is heavily reliant on the team comp hes in. He needs a lot of peel and a strong front line to successfully unload the full duration of his ult. You never know what kind of team youll end up with in games, and twitch is very reliant on his team to stay alive and safe. But if he has all that then watch out

Your ADC selection is pretty poor. The reason why is that every single one of those ADCs is a heavily AA based champion and functionally they do not provide anything that different from each other-- they fill the same role. Trist has a slight amount more mobility and Twitch has some assassin flavor, but by and large, these guys all require a lot of peel/protection to succeed.

Twitch is my favorite ADC but you need a very strong frontline/initiation to do well with him. He depends on entering fights from stealth that have already been committed to, in an angle where he is safe and can deal massive damage.

But you need to diversify your portfolio a bit in my opinion. There's simply no reason to have such similar ADCs, unless you absolutely love that style and want to work on that and that alone.
