Queue times will never be as good with new role select compared to old queue.

Just think about it. Everyone in old queue was essentially queueing as "fill". Every ranked player playing fill, and everything else was sorted out during champ select.

Now, everyone is queueing for exactly 2 roles (with only some people queueing for exactly 5 roles). Even if you have the same amount of people queueing for ranked, and even assuming that a fair number of people are queueing as fill, you are essentially reducing the available slots to form a team by about half. And if the math is right, reducing availability by about half means about double the queue time.

I've been hesitant to talk about this before because every seemed to love the shit out of the new "pick two" role select, but I hated it from day one. I have always been a "four role random" type of player in queue. By that, I mean, I liked to play four different roles randomly as they were assigned to me (somewhat like fill) but I liked to play each role in generally equal amounts. Currently, the "pick two" role select supports neither side of my preferences. I can't "pick four" and I neither can I play each role about equally, especially if I choose support or fill.

But Riot has recently explicitly expressed that they want to reduce queue times. So why aren't we able to pick three or four roles? Why pidgeon-hole us into exactly 2 (fill doesn't count, because we all know it pretty much only gives you support and occasionally jungle). If you want better queue times, then give the players more options, and add weighting to the role select system. It's ridiculous that they haven't implemented this yet.

Why do I even need to tell you guys this? This game is your livelihood. Riot, you don't own or operate any other games. You can't just leave the entire game system broken for half a year and expect people to not start leaving.

With that said, I already left. I play a game maybe once every two weeks. Probably less. I've been playing a lot of MechWarrior Online. It's a small community at this point (I left after they tried to do a funky cash grab with $500 digital items some years ago) but now that I'm back I'm having a lot of fun. I find that brainstorming new and exciting builds is way more fun than brewing over this hot shit mess that is League of Legends.

I might come back to League of Legends someday just like I did with MechWarrior Online. But for now, I'll catch you later. You'll probably figure something out before Season 7 ends. I hope.
