Concerns about the mid year mage item update

Taking into account all of the balancing issues people have been complaining about lately I believe that maybe riot might be biting off a little more they can chew with this update to all of the mage items. I know people will be mad and will complain no matter what but this patch will have such a vast scope of changes i hope the balance team is ready to get a lot of "feedback" from the community. I do have to agree with riot though that a lot of mages are in a pretty bad spot right now. I main and sometimes play in mid and it just seems lately that even if i do well in lane and get ahead it does not matter in the end. I just feel like lately building tanky is just too rewarding on most champions, i went up against a talon that rushed a maw and titanic hydra as his first items and he eviscerated me and my team. Its just really frustrating to see all of these champions not being built they way they were intended just to be able to compete with all of the true tanks. Maybe i am just overthinking all of this but this item update might just be a little too soon, maybe riot should focus on balancing some other things before they change all of these items.
