Free "win" in promos is gone?

I dropped from plat4 to plat5 about a week ago. Got back into my promos, and didn't have a free win. I thought that was funny, but didn't pay to much attention to it. Today, I just failed my P3 promos, and got back into them. Again, no free "win". I don't recall this feature being removed is this intentional or is shit just weird?

Free win only applies in bronze-gold. You're in plat now, so the training wheels are coming off.
