Nexus Blitz - Great Idea bad execution

To me nexus blitz is the game mode we want to play when we don't have time for a full match but still want that feel of playing a game of league. The map design is well thought out and the game play feels fresh and at the same time fun as ever, but there is one big problem. The RNG. It sucks outplaying your opponents just for them to win the even and win a GA or something like it. If the random events (or the events all together) and random rewards were taken out of this game mode it would become my go-to. I love league but don't often have the time or energy for a 30 minute game. This game mode could breath new life into this game if it was slightly more skill based and less about RNG (by getting rid of the random events all together IMO).

I know many other feel this way as well as many of us that grew up with league and are now adults and therefore have jobs and families. We need a game mode that has grown with us and nexus blitz could be it if it was skill based and not reliant on RNG.

well this is why its an experimental mode. its literately a beta test that they are running on live servers instead of pbe so they can get more feed back. im sure they are going to read all of the non rage post like this and tune the mode till it becomes something players like.

pretty sure the RNG and other random shit is on PURPOSE so people wont take the mode as seriously as other modes and tryhard. By filling the mode with a lot of RNG over the top wackyness it keeps people from going full tryhard like how they did with original URF (which led to AR URF).

If everything was expected people would begin developing strategies around it.

(Oh I know that Nexus sudden death happens at X so Im just gonna pick Brand and auto win) (I know that king of the hill will spawn HERE at Y minutes so Im going to draft AOE mages to always win this mode!)

that kinda shit will quickly make the game mode super unfun and force Riot to start introducing competitive play aspects like ban systems or Draft picking and you dont want that when this modes entire design is supposed to be wacky CASUAL alternative to SR.

Yes the RNG of the mode is beyond bullshit, specially when the event spawns INSIDE the enemy base and you just get to watch as they get a free huge buff that can potentially end the game.

It honestly kills the mode.

Honestly, I think the main issue is that everything spawns so randomly, and often ends up in places you can't do anything about. Such as the King of the Hill circle spawning half way under an enemy tower, or the brawl circle closing in under enemy towers. If they spawned at more reasonable areas, not half way under towers, or didn't close in under towers until a tower was gone, then those events wouldn't be as big of a problem.

And, Sunibee, that same thing can be done right now with those, and other, champions. Sudden death happens at around 18 minutes, so with that in mind just play Brand every game so if that happens, there you go. And play Lux or MF every game so when King of the Hill happens, you can dick them off it no matter where it spawns. It's a thing that I've literally seen done already, and the spots are random. A fixed spot isn't gonna change it when all you need is an MF to ult the spot for King of the Hill and a Lux to use everything there.

I feel the opposite. While I think the Events should have a more consistent timer, like an objective would, I feel like the random Events makes it stand out from other modes. It makes it fun and unpredictable, and forces players to interact in interesting ways.

The Events need reiteration for sure though. Sudden Death needs to be completely changed, if its kept at all. Certain things like Loot Teemo or sometimes the Bardle Royale circle favor one team or the other way too much. Loot Teemo in particular feels really bad because sometimes he'll just dive into enemy jungle, never to be seen again. I think there need to be way more events, like 2 or 3 at least. Also, more events that aren't "fight" or "zone control", like Snowball Fight.

I like the double jungling and I like the split lanes, but I think buff placement needs to be reassessed. Blue is really hard to get, it is way too exposed.
