With word of Elise changes coming to PBE, I have an idea for Rappel!
When Elise lands after using Rappel, enemies within a small radius that did not see her when she initially cast flee in fear for 1~ second.
This has multiple uses:
- This gives Elise some sticking power when chasing in the jungle, letting her make use of Skittering Frenzy on fleeing champions, instead of wasting most of the 3 seconds just trying to reach the target
- Continuing the last point, Elise can save her Q execute for a bit longer, instead of needing to use it as a gapcloser, thus raising its damage
- Rappel can be used more defensively when in a sticky situation, when there's no options for Elise to use Rappel to escape
- Elise can be more disruptive in teamfights, or disable the enemy assassin aiming for her ADC
- Elise is rewarded more for landing a cocoon while unseen, granting her a decent amount of time where the target is disabled, and plays to her theme of a spider catching prey
- Encourages Elise to be opportunistic and sneaky
- Jungle camps will go "OH GOD A GIANT SPIDER" when Elise Rappels to them
The fear is countered by vision, fighting in open spaces and not chasing Elise into brush. Rappel itself has a long cooldown, as well.
TL;DR: Elise fears nearby enemies when making an entrance with Rappel from fog of war.
