I played it for a long time after his Pool Party skin came out but I haven't played it in a while. Is he good as support? He can benefit from Ryali's slow, has cc on 3/4 abilities, and no mana + free sustain he can be a pretty fucking dank support if you use him right. I'm telling you in the next season when Zac support is picked in LCS and shit, you guys will thank me.
I think almost any utility/CC tank can be played as a decent support. Actually, almost any champion can be played support.
Personally I think Zac gets overshadowed by Leona as a support besides filling a few different aspects, but Zac is a lot better in the jungle. It's just better to take advantage of his E for super long range ganks. I think Zac support would do more solo damage and definitely have longer range initiates than Leo, though.
But it's really preference. Having Zac as an alternative for Leo is fine. You can win and have fun with any champion on any role because it's all subjective.
It's okay. There's much better options obviously, but yeah, it works.
