Unpopular Opinion: I wish for there to be a mage meta....

Where AP mages rule the lanes, forcing ADs to rush a completed MR item (and not sit on Hexdrinker all game) in order to not get exploded in 3/4 of a mage's combo

Where the AP mage will even wreck a tank itemizing MR without having to build the MPen trinity of Sorc Shoes, Liandry's, and Void Staff

Where the AP mage can sit in lane all day like all the other resourceless "high skill ceiling" champions, constantly poking their enemies out of lane

Where AD junglers fear their own jungle for the AP mage jungler could be lurking in that brush

Where AP-based runes are considered OP and only restricted to AP-types

Where AP itemization have decent build paths and doesn't steal 5 slots in pieces to ultimately make 1 item

....

Who am I kidding?

I just wished Rito would stop being biased against APs and give them a little something so they aren't acting like a secondary support to ADCs

  • Possibly a good change but let's be sure to reserve that niche specifically for Mages that are designed and supposed to be doing that
  • Sorc Shoes and Liandry's are actually bad to rush against heavy MR. The only way to get this sort of change is to quite literally break the game
  • No. There's a reason why Xerath's passive is tied to his Auto Attack. A champion constantly blasting you from 1000 units away with no penalty is unhealthy game design.
  • I feel like this is an issue that goes beyond just being an AD or AP champion. First of all we have plenty of AD champions who should have the right to do that (Rengar or Kha'Zix), and the vast majority of AP champions should be threats in a bush. More of an item or balance issue methinks.
  • Not with the current rune system. Honestly they're WAY more flexible than some people give them for.
  • Ehh sure

How is that "unpopular opinion"? That is legit Board's wet dream.

We're biased against Mages cause their items let them easily hit 600-1000AP, and burn/burst down enemies like they are nothing.

Though really the current problem is Bot Lane, and always, ALWAYS Lethality, that shit is just too much. Utility is OP, which is why Janna is still the best support in the game.

Your post would be a fun change from riot catering to the AD assassins like the last 2 fucking years.
