Diam 1 61% WR Playing in Silver-Gold Points out Biggest Mistakes & Misplays I Saw

You May Disagree With This Post, and That's (due to recent Internet Issues im playing norms until September Pretty much, so I'm play with alot if IRL friends, and relaxing, coaching them, and Trying new things)

before i start, let me say, Diamond players, Masters, and Challengers are Human, and make mistakes, If you think people in Diamond don't make mistakes, you havent ever been in this place, any D5-D1 will tell you the struggle, and Ego, and the Flame you will endure in low diamond, and Plat aswell. But on the flip side, the cool people are some of the most chill league players i've ever met.

I've played with Hi im gosu, C9 Sneaky, and tobais Fate (all solo Q match ups) They are way above me in skill, but just to toot my own horn im huge fan of all three of them and it was awesome to see my idles in action after all these years, I was hard stuck Diamond 5 forever and hating life on League, This is by far my best season and I'm really happy about it. ** Disclaimer, These are my thoughts, and not facts, and not all Lower Elo players are bad, nor do i think that, Many IRL friends of mine are "low Elo" an thats perfectly fine, whatever level of play you are, know that you can always improve, but you wont unless you can face the fact that we all make mistakes, and when we do we pay for them, and they are soley our mistakes, not anyone else.**

#1 Kill chasing: Roughly everyone does it in all Elos, But it the late game parts of silver-gold games many players will try to ace teams rather than 4-1 split a tower, 4-1 Baron, or 1-3-1, or any other varying tactic to keep pressure on the map. Players will tend to try and 5v5 in the junlge with no vision, away from objectives. Please do not teamfight in the jungle unless your team comp is suited for choke-point control, like rumble/brand/MF/Kenn/Ziggs/Lux ETC where your champions excel at fighting in tight spaces. due to the ease of using your huge AOE spells -Aside from that Fight where you can see, No vision = no reaction time, and instant death for carries if assassins on the other team are good.

If you're going to set up 5v5's They must have a reason, Example, team fighting over Baron or a Tower/inhib. I know sounds easy but what happens most of the time is 1 guy on the team runs around looking for kills, and baits the other players in. If you see something and it looks wrong, or your gut feeling says its wrong, it almost always is. KDA dosen't always win the game, once late game hits and everyone is full build, chasing a kill all around the map for 5 mins is a massive waste of time.

hard to explain all this in text and not while doing a replay or something. Just at work, bored and would like to help people climb, most of this will be fairly general, and prbly cliche non-sense. But feel free to dip anytime, i just wanted to take the time to write my thoughts, mostly for my followers who wanted to read my summary, ya'll know who you are <3

#2 Little to no Peel for Carries. Here's how i normally Peel, personal play style: If I'm the main Tank in my game, I will try to start a fight, and then watch the other team, and see if anyone dives for my backline, instead of walking into thier team with my slipknot t-shirt around my head, I will Turn on the first person to either Dive my carries/backline and put all of my focus into CCing that player to prevent them from bursting the AD or APC. Then return to wacking on whoever needs to be whacked. Yes carries should be able to kite, but not all can, or some just arent able to due to match up, if you're frontline and you ignore backline, your win rate will suffer.

#2.5 Myth Only the Support Peels the ADC: This is false, if you see your ADC/APC or fed player Who can safely be helped, your focus should be that, if you Secure a kill on a diving enemy player that's victory, you turned you 5v5 into 5v4, and now the assassin is useless and dead, your carries should be free to do dmg *(this theory banks on the fact that your ADC/APC can play, if they can't then this info really won't matter cuz they will become paste even if they had 5 cho'gaths to peel for them

#3 You Must always Target the ADC What if its a 0-19 Jinx with 3 Ludens Echos? Don't dive Her, its not worth risking a Death over a Minimal Threat, Most players in silver Seem to understand this, Bronze is hit or miss with people, but there are many Bronze players who understand this aswell, where it gets tricky is a Fed Carry, who is ranged, and very hard to get to if they know their champion, like a Trist or Ezreal, My Ideal plan would be to destroy whom Ever is the biggest melee threat, or if you cannot win team-fights the next viable option would be the Split Push tactics, if you split push and its working, don't stop doing it until it stops working, simple enough, not always as clean and easy as that but you learn as you go.

#4 Winning Teamfights, But doing nothing. This doesnt always happen but it tends to happen more when a team that scales, and has been losing the whole game, but then starts winning fights cuz of champ scaling. If you ace a Team, you need to Wave Clear, Do not just back blindly for no reason and sit in the base. If you have Low HP but all enemy are dead, Go to the nearest lane and push the wave to atleast the river if possible, that way the wave can be set up for slow pushes/baron buff or whatever. Do not let waves Crash into towers if you Ace a team when behind #1 goal is to get minions into thier nexus, by backing and wasting time when no one is alive to hurt you just takes away the value of your ace, if baron/elder is up and everyone is low, Push waves instead, encourage team mates to push thier lanes, until about 3 seconds before they resspawn, then begin recalling/buying items, and resuming whatever objective control is available, If you do not Ace the team, and a Player is still alive who could possibly kill you, consider these options 1: Where is the Player? 2: What Champion is it, and could you 1v1 that person (if so, Clear waves, take the risk, its worth it if u kill him or if he doesnt show and you get minion control in a lane again 3: If it's an Stealth champ like twitch/eve/ Dr. Mundo/Shaco. and you feel like you would not be able to push, return base reset 4: if the player alive has good wave Clear, and you don't Clear in lanes away from them, or pressure barons ETC 5: Doing Baron or Elder if your Jungle is dead in Silver/Bronze is a bad idea unless you are 100% sure no on can contest, this means EZ ults and other Globals, Risk the play if you and your team feel safe. ** #5 Backing After Baron for no reason at all. ** Back if there's good cause to back, like the whole other team coming to smoke some joints in the river or something, But if you steal a baron from them or kill them while they do it, Low HP or not if Ace or 4 man wipe, Go to the nearest lane and put pressure there, or pressure a tower, dont jsut run down mid everytime.

#6 Side Lanes Matter Do not ARAM Mid every single Game, 5v5ing mid for 20mins is a good way to throw, and and even better way to lose to a split push team like trynd/yorick/jax or fed toplaner who can push really well. If you take mid towers/Inhib You need to pressure other lanes while that inhib is down, thats why the game spawns supers to reward you for pressure a lane so much that you secure an inhib, Move your lead to bot or top lane, and force fights there, rather than mid where you likely won't get anything more, depending on the situation, taking 2 inhibs is the perfect set-up for a game ending play, and its fairly reasonable to do before 30mins if your mid lane is fed, and doing well, send your ADC and Roaming support to toplane and Trio down his tower if he's behind and force the other team to have to react to that while midlane pressures his tower and can take it solo in some cases, sparing the need for a 5v5 when one powerful dude can manage, This situation is works all different ways, Fed mid going bot ETC, Jungle 4 man bot lane, since bot lane is either ahead or crushed most of the time. If you are an ADC player, and you are super fed, Keep the heat on bot lane, and secure drake before roaming to top or mid, Top lane roams in low elo are rare, and there for many low elo top laners will not expect it, and having an ADC and support 3v1 a top laner is pretty deadly, top is an importat lane, and if you have a strong tank you have a good chance of winning 5v5s ** #7 not helping people who Feed** (for Jungle Mostly) Again my opinion, and exp I main Jungle As a jungle this can be impossible sometimes, if a lane is just feed ingand you know you will die, do not gank his lane, unless you can get you mid to help you, Do not 2v1 the fed darius and feed him more, this has effectively made you and your laner worse off. If he flames you for not helping he's bad, Good players know how to play from behind and they wont feed enough to where the other guy can dive him over and over, however if he's getting 2v1 by the other Jungle, You need to be there to atleast prevent dives. Sometimes Players will tilt, esp low elo where people think it's the junlges sole purpose is to baby sit you, it is not, he gets fed from camps, counters the other Jungle keeping him busy so ur fed team mates can freely farm/kill etc amoung other countless things jungle will or can do during a game, Ganking is just part of that equation, If you are in your lane being crushed, play safely, meaning do not 1v1, if they try to dive, try back away form tower, before minions crash if you think they will dive you, i know its not fun, buts it's how you stay in the game, request team to help.

#8 It's a Team Game You will lose becuz of People, and sometimes there's nothing you can do, Take the time to learn what you couldve have done, or what caused that team mate to be so behind, and if there was any way you could have prevented it, in a lot of cases you could if you wanted to, but chose not to, or didn't know how to help.

#9 Do not Spam Ping Mistakes. Unless you like losing, That's all im going to say, You tilt your Team, you lose the game more often than not, don't do it, you are immature if you do, and you may suffer for that choice. Try to avoid pointing out flaws in people, they wont listen, they will get mad, instead try to convey the right thing to do, in a friendly way, even if it hurts you, Who's LP is gonna get lost? Yours, Fk this guy you'll never see him again, just use him as your pawn to win your games, Peoplem are sheep, use simple tactics to try and keep them on your side of the battle. Not jsut by saying "GJ" and "KYS" and all those friendly things. if you knew what the right thing to do was, try to explain is nicely, but direct it at your team, not at the bad player, they dont like to be seen cuz it hurts our pride.

#10 Last but not Least, Don't buy Expensive Items when you are getting beat up in lane, if you are a tanky champ, get cheap tank items first, If you lose lane go tank, if you're a mid, get Items that will increase your AP, Like more Dorans rings NOT for the passive, but for the 15AP and HP Bonus, they help a little bit and can be sold when needed to afford your carry items. 3x dorans is meta, if people tell you "they dont stack" insta mute them, they are not bought to stack, they are simply filling the the gap betwenn you and your other laner, 3x dorans is almost half the AP of a Carry item which in some cases it helps you last hit more, and therefore secure more income to get to your carry item faster, you dont always need 3, or even 2, it really your best judgement depending on how far behind you are, Look at thier AP and try to keep up as best as you can, it gets very advanced when it comes to ways to itemize, but for starters this works fairly well IF you can last hit.

thanks for reading, Sorry if anything is a little misunderstood, I would glad explain what i mean, i wrote this on my phone at work to pass the time, Im not a Guru, or a Super Pro, but this is what i've learned, and used in my games climbing to Diamond 1, and hopefully Master. League has many ways it can be played, and not one way is always the best way. If you've ever played in Diamond and up you know this well, by all the off meta players in Diamond, who do very well with unpopular builds and champions, If AP Sona Mid can get Diamond 3, and a Ahri ADC get Diamond, You can to. You may Disagree and Thats Okay, You just keep being You

I will read this more thoroughly, there are plenty of things.

But what if it is a Kayle-Yi/Xin combo? Obviously killing the Xin wins the fight outright, but my team couldn't coordinate any cc and he kept going 50%->100% until he wiped us when the backline Kayle was 50% most of the fight. Seems like if we pushed her out, he would be easier. We weren't dying that fast, we were just wasting our time fighting while he chunked us down constantly.

I mean we want to get the damage off. But we just couldn't kill him. His damage wasn't too crazy. Kayle was squishy. (We did try once, we won the team fight but Kayle ulted and got away. But better than all of us dying).
