Need Advice (Trackpad v Mouse)

So, this is my first season of League, and my first moba. I've always been a console gamer, except for the odd emulator on my laptop. Now, I do have a mouse, but, I used to play a lot of Runescape, so a Trackpad was natural to me. This season, I played with ONLY a Trackpad, and ended up in gold. Would using a mouse improve my gameplay, or is it just a matter of preference? I've heard both answers plenty of times, but, I'm looking to figure it out and fix this (if it is a problem).

you want a mouse. trust me you will get used to it. it typically improves gameplay. I'd say try it for preseason at least

A mouse gives you more control over your movements. Its not going to skyrocket your performance, but it would help if you got one. Especially for things like attack moving.

track pads suck massive paynus for this game, depending on your role getting a mouse and setting up some comfortable hotkeys would easily make you climb higher.
