Banned For This? With No Offences Beforehand?

I admit, I was a tad bit toxic. But I've sent in reports of people literally threatening my life and they have never once gotten in trouble? People who have done far more than this, who have inted to 1/15? And I get banned for a minuscule amount of flame? I even apologized post game screen as well. Here's the log -

Did I really get suspended for being mildly toxic, once? I admit, I went a little overboard by griefing him, but even his own team called him toxic and applauded me for doing what I did? I know that doesn't mean anything, but, seriously. I get banned for that, whereas the people I report who are far worse than I don't ever.

PS - I never even got chat restricted before, and had honor five (like that means anything) but to jump straight into a ban for something like that?

Sorry bro, League has a zero tolerance for this. Keep it out of the chat. Even if it's to your homie, the randoms in the game have a right not to read that sht.

I'm going to assume you got a 14-day ban for it since it's your first offence. After 14-day is really thin ice.

I would recommend you remove highly offensive words (such as the one that was replaced by percent signs above) including hate speech from your vocabulary, and I highly recommend you to never use such language in a public environment such as League.

Riot has a zero tolerance policy for hate speech - no matter who it is directed at, it has no place in League.

Unfortunately, yes, it was the hate speech. Using it multiple times in a match can escalate an account directly up to a 14 day or permanent suspension, as Riot has a zero tolerance policy towards it.

From the Instant Feedback System FAQs:

PUNISHMENTS GENERALLY FOLLOW A BASIC ESCALATION PATH:

  • First Offense: 10 Game Chat Restriction
  • Second Offense: 25 Game Chat Restriction
  • Third Offense: Two Week Suspension
  • Fourth Offense: Permanent Suspension

However, it is possible to skip to a Two Week or Permanent suspension based on the severity of the behavior in the game. Excessive negative behavior can result in a Two-Week or Permanent suspension at any time without having a chat restriction on the account.

I don't see where you mention whether it was a 14 day or permanent suspension, but if it was a perma and you haven't had any prior chat restrictions or a 14 day suspension, you can try submitting a ticket to Player Support and see if they will downgrade the punishment to a 14 day suspension instead. They may consider it. If it was a 14 day suspension, then count your blessings that it wasn't a perma, and remember that Riot does not allow hate speech, even jokingly with friends. While you and your cousin may be okay with it, the other three people in the match aren't necessarily, and if they report you for it, you will be punished.

i really have to question riots zero tolerance policy, because I've seen and reported people for saying the N word and other similar stuff and nothing happens yet riot cant handle curse words that are almost used as commonly as normal speech, if it was truly zero tolerance they wouldn't give us the ability to turn off the chat filter, plus theres really no reason to act like curse words are anything new they have been around for a while and I understand nobody likes being cursed at or anything but news flash it happens.

Edit: oh and one more thing, before you say riot has a zero tolerance for swearing, you might want to look at kleds little remark that sometimes appears in the guidelines section to the left of the page, cause it often says "where the fuck are we skarrl" zero tolerance my foot
