Any tips on playing adc? I'm pretty new to the role.

  1. Focus on farming, marksmen need their items to remain relevant as the game goes on.
  2. Let your support start the fights and be ready to help them when they do. Do not farm blindly and ignore what is going on, your support might end up dead from that.
  3. If you find you are getting poked out, buy early lifesteal (Dorans Blade plus the Cull item 1083 is a good choice).
  4. Harass your opponent when you can see that your minions are about to die (and your opponent is going to try to go for cs) because they can't attack you back if they are cs-ing.
  5. Never stay under turret for that last bit of farm when you are low HP. You will get tower dove, and you will wind up further behind than if you had recalled.
  6. How to interact with your jungler: a. give them a smiteless leash to start, they will <3 you forever. b. always thank / compliment them when they gank for you, this will make them want to help you more.

Focus on csing and learn to orbwalk (The art of breaking off the end animation of an auto attack animation after the projectile leaves to start re-positioning until your next aa is ready.)

Overall I would say that ADC as a role is the least influential in the game until late game is when ADC gets on equal terms with mid laner in influence.

Meaning your goal is to avoid dying and go for farm in the laning phase. Your second goal is learning orbwalking as it is the primary tool for ADCs to avoid damage by canceling the animation of your end of an auto then moving to get a distance. 3rd goal is I recommend is playing Caitlyn Ezreal Tristana as they all have some form of mobility that can help you repostion and have decent laning phases overall.

Nobody has explicitly said this, and it is really important to stress. Your number one goal should be to stay alive at all costs. It doesn't matter if you did a bunch of damage immediately if you also die immediately. It is much better to let the fight start, watch people use their CC abilities, then go in when it is safe. You're not doing any damage if you die to that Vi who ulted you because you didn't wait the 2 seconds for her to use it on someone else.
