I want to thank @Riot for helping me finally make the jump to play Support more than once every year

This is gonna be an unpopular opinion, but I for one would like to thank Riot for implementing autofill. Since the implementation of autofill I have played Support more times these past few weeks than I have in my 2 1/2 years of League, and I actually like it. I really really do. And I just wanted to take a few seconds to thank Riot for showing me that Support isn't so bad, I just have to build a SS and keep my ADC alive. After that I'm free to do whatever I please! It just feels great knowing that I can feel fully confident playing all of the roles in League and I wanted to thank Riot for showing me that. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Edit: Woah I just got home from work and was actually able to see myself on the front page! Thanks peeps! Also I know not everyone enjoys playing support, I used to think it was the worst role to play in League until recently when I actually took the time to play it. I don't have much time to play anymore so I've swapped my playstyle from "I want to play THIS specifically." To more of a "Man I just want to play a match I don't care what it is." Do I have my preferences? Of course, but if I have to support every now and then so other people can get the roles that they want then it doesn't bug me at all, because EVERYONE now has a chance to do it for me. It's a give and take system now for everyone, not just a "This affects ME and ONLY ME so it's a bad system" scenario. [slayer-jinx-catface]

It comes at the cost of a worse experience for literally everybody else (other than suport mains) though. People end up playing roles they don't want to play, adcs have to play with supports that have no idea what they are doing, and dodges are light years more frequent.

Why should people be forced to play a role they don't enjoy (even if they are good at it) in a game played during their free time?

You could've played support anytime prior to autofill just by putting it as your primary role every once in a while when you want to take a break from your main role. You realize that right?

Glad to hear you enjoy it! Not gonna lie I don't mind playing most roles and autofill helped people like myself. Last season I would have put mid and fill for my selected roles if only fill didn't automatically mean support every game. Now though I can put that as my preference and actually get mid most often and the other roles are fairly random with a bit more support than the others.

Whether autofill is best for most people I have no idea, but it doesn't feel worse than pick order way back in the day imo.

Why do you need autofill to play support? You could just go for fill, or actually queue up as one.

I didn't play this game to feel fully confident in all roles, i had a primary and secondary option that tells Riot that.

Autofill doesn't bother me as someone who mains support. I queue up for Mid/top sometimes and if I get support I think "Oh, I can play that too"

I like to play support also, i dont like to play it all the time tho. Autofill showed me that it can be either really fun or really horrible if your adc is bad. xP I dislike getting auto-filled to jungle tho. Just cant gank properly as a jungler T_T

Well for those of us that have been queuing support for years, we now have to wait up to 2 whole minutes for a game because autofill is trying to balance everything out. How did all of you other role players cope this long?
