To set things straight according to Riot, it's okay to be toxic for most of the season.
So recently two week banned here, since it's my first time through the ringer I did some digging and talked to a couple friends who had been banned before. Thought it would be a good idea to kinda get the noggin jogging.
First of all, this isn't a "Oh Rito I got banned for no reason see!! Unban me kappa." Screw that I got banned for two weeks for being toxic in a few matches, I accept that and I've moved on, my fault entirely.
What I can't accept is why people who are more toxic than I am consecutively get free passes just because they started acting like good noodles close to the end of the season, but will never change their ways. Or better yet just weren't banned at the right time apparently.
Why is this system even in place?
The end of season rewards are just that, rewards. They shouldn't be given to people who were banned at any point in the season, that's kinda the whole point of the system is to reward players who are consecutively showing good sportsmanship, not someone who manged to get lucky and dodge bans and now just isn't playing ranked to save his rewards. Not to mention the cut off date is way too far into the freaking season. These seasons last almost a year. So as long as you're toxic, but don't get permad within the last roughly 2 1/2 months of the season, you're still going to get the rewards that other people get for generally being as chill as possible during ranked matches.
TL;DR I don't think it's okay that there is a forgiveness program for being toxic when considering ranked rewards. There's no excuse for being toxic in any other consideration, why are these rewards any different? That's like saying "Well, your brother kicked and yelled at a puppy, but you kicked that same puppy too close to dinner. So I'm grounding you to your room with no dinner and giving him a slap on the wrist while letting him gorge at the table." [zombie-brand-clap] [slayer-jinx-unamused]
