I'm confused about versatility in this game
I know that champs go into other lanes very often, to try and explore new stuff, and that's understandable. But sometimes it makes the person who isn't trying new stuff to have a hard time playing the game.
This is from a top perspective , when I see mid Laners top, I always get the idea it's gonna be an easy lane I can just run them down. But it never happens. Cass top. Ryze top. Akali top. Viktor top. Ezreal top. Neeko top.
If I got the memo I'd be playing something wild like Zoe top too, but I'm playing things like udyr, Jax, Olaf, camille, ornn and I just can't do shit.
People say it's a longer lane they're at a disadvantage , but is that why Viktor was nerfed 2 patches in a row? Was he really at a disadvantage . And what's more funny is that I see things like mages more than I see talons or zeds or yasuos, which actually have a harder time playing top than these mages do. So why is that it's fair that an Akali shows up and pokes the living death out of me because I'm Mellee and don't have a skillshot to farm with, but when I go for her the same poke ability can slow me and she can shroud and she can e away and when I go for an all in I just don't win because my base damages aren't that high, aka I'm supposed to get stuff like sheen to activate my damage and scale first?
Can there be some sort of way to fight this stuff without being shoved or poked to my death? And it isn't just Akali, this isn't a balance issue. It's a mobility issue where me not having mobility like a Zed or yasuo is being taken advantage of by mages just so they can get free poke and stacks without dying.
Or maybe I'm just stupid and want to have fun .
corrupting potion or Doran's Ring or another item with sustain so you can go for poke
to farm better and have damage in her aura, but the armor would not be effective against her magic damage...hmmm
