Do not use OP.GG to check your Rank and Tier's MMR

Ok so I assume that some or most people who play League use OP.GG to check their MMR and see where they measure up to their rank and tier's average MMR. Well refresh the page several times (in short intervals) and the number will change from high to low. This is because the website itself cannot average out every single players MMR in that Tier and Rank. Most likely it takes your placement in the World rankings and averages the MMR of the closest 50 or 100 people to you. So what this means is that among the thousands of people who have the same tier and rank as you OP.GG will compare your MMR to the average of those 50-100 nearby your own rank, the average they give can be skewed by smurf accounts which would have higher MMR than what the actual average of that Tier and Rank is.

TL;DR OP.GG is not accurate when it comes to comparing your progression to the average progression of your Tier and Rank

You can check your MMR all you want; you'll still get placed against the same people.

I mean... I think anyone who's used OP.gg before has known that the information they give isn't accurate in terms of Mmr. In fact, riot themselves always says that the third party sites do not offer the accurate information that riot gives.

I have rarely heard them say that honestly, but I have been getting average MMR's (this is in B1 promo's to S5) from 1408 which is high Silver 1/low Gold 5 to about 1293 which is mid Silver 3

Either you're playing with friends who are much higher MMR, or your MMR is high enough that you'll jump a few divisions if you keep winning.

This was posted 3 Years Ago, and I do somewhat curse myself that it ended up at the top of Google searches when you search "MMR" and "League of Legends" together. Since then I have hit Platinum MMR and am currently sitting in Plat 3 making an attempt to break into Diamond.

Yeah, man, huge congrats. I hope to join you in Plat this season (as you walk into Diamond). Every season prior I struggle to get into Gold (and do), but this season I just walked in... so... Plat seems doable :D

Good luck!

Not really about walking into a division, it's more of you're gradually learning the game bit by bit the more you play ranked whether you know it or not. You begin to see the fruits of your labor when you realize that there are more options outside of laning and teamfighting to gain the upper hand, and you begin to incorporate small intricacies in your playstyle like wave management, taking trades that favor you, etc. At the same time your Macro is improving and your field of vision far surpasses your lane so you can make more plays early on and build an advantage off that.

Good job on hitting Plat 3, I wish you luck in your Ranked games.

"do not offer the accurate information that riot gives." Since when Riot gives that information (MMR)?

So, can riot tell us how can we see our mmr? Honestly, the OPGG is the only way i can see it, even if it is not accurate. I think many summoners would like to know their progress on mmr.

I always thought it takes the games your playing in and finds MMR by comparing you to your opponents. It is fairly accurate in my experience. When I was on a big winning streak in plat1-d5 I was facing d3s and it put my MMR around the same as any of those guys.

Im curently gold V with 90 lp and op.gg say's my MMR is 1,318 which is straigth up impossible. On the other side Lolking rates me at 1,543 which is more logical. I wouldnt recommend using op.gg to check your mmr

Lolking score isn't MMR, it's based on your LP and division

You can use http://www.lol-mmr.com, track and forecast. :)
