@Meddler how about removing the randomness of crit, and making it "every X autos, you will crit"?

you have a buff that indicates that, each item you buys reduces "it", and at some point it becomes every X autos you will NOT crit, and finally when you have 100% crit chance the buff is always on

that would allow for plays, and especially trades: you don't want to trade when the enemy will have his crit soon, you don't want to trade if you don't have yours eigher

give it a thought? [slayer-jinx-catface]

At a minimum these would need to be like static shiv or ludens stacks that crit when maxed out, but they would need to instantly fall off when out of combat for a few seconds. Otherwise everyone with crit from now on will stack up their crit and just front load that onto their burst at all times as their first auto would always crit.

So we make everyone Caitlyn?

The short answer: no Explemation: you could "stack" your critchance till you hit the 80-100% mark and then attack the enemy champion. If you do that over and over you have a 100% crit chance vs champions and not 20% or so. This was abused in the early stages of the game by tryndamere. So its even proven that this will happen again.

Crit is there to make stuff more interesing while giving good late game scaling with AAs, because you cant dogde an AA with skill, unlike most abilitys. Thats why crit is RNG in the first place. otherwise crit could not be a x2(x2.5 with IE) modifier.

A solution to this problem would be to make Soft Caps for low Critchance! Like "if you crit with below 20% critchance, your next 3 AAs will NOT crit" at 20- <40% only the next 2 AAs will not crit and so on. This basicly limits the "maximum luck" you can get, but it will not impact anything else. There is a slightly bigger problem with High amounts of critchance, because LoL uses a PRD, but thats another story, which could also get fixed with this methode.

it was tried before, it was abused to hit junlge camps X times before heading to lane and getting a guaranteed crit on your opponent. just another thing to micro manage.

its a bad move overall but could be alleviated with need to stay in combat.... giving sustained crits, but then they werent powerful enough to justify buying.

overall crit is bad no matter what you do to it.

It's a computer program; there is no random.
