Has happened three times now, seems to be a thing. Top lane scuttle is marked, I go and take it down with kindred, no sound effect, no buff, nothing, the mark just fades from the screen after.
This is a pretty big deal....

But the mark vanishes right after i kill scuttle this wouldn't happen if herald were marked. If it is the case it brings up another question though, why is herald an option for their level 1 mark....
Yea if it's after 6 mark it's baron/herald, you will know bc it stays there as well. Ive played Kindred jg maybe 5 times or more in 5.22 I've never had such a problem
I'm talking about very early on, its been my first mark twice in a row now, i head top lane, go and take it, it fades, and my passive stays at zero

It shouldn't be an option for their level one mark. Its possible that, if that is happening, what's actually going on is that Riot changed it so that your passive no longer displays itself until you actually GET a mark, whereas before it would display your passive when you had no marks. So now you're observing a phenomena where something you expect to happen isn't happening so you assume the thing ISNT happening but it is, just not the way you expect.

I just started another kindred game, will pay extra close attention and inform on what happens.
Again what you're saying would make sense, if it were happening like that.
How its happened has been:
1.) I am level 1-3 and see that something in top lane river is marked(assumingly scuttle).
2.) I head to scuttle and kill him
3.) The mark fades off the map
4.) I mouse over my passive and it states that i have completed zero hunts and do 0% bouns damage
