Yeah.. Except I easily got to Gold 2 last season as a support with zyra (70% winrate) and morgana (82%). I would get higher if it wasn't for some IRL stuff. It's easy to climb as a support if you know what you're doing.

If you want to rank up, get good at the game. As simple as that. The best players can play every role proficiently.

Honestly, it's harder to climb as a Support but at the same time if you're confident enough, you can certainly change things around. Just by going as , I allowed my team to pick whomever they wanted because I was a tank. Not only this, I know how to play him very well so I can CC people successfully, tower dive and get out alive, and secure objectives because i'm a wall to the enemy team if I play right.

Yeah, getting bad teammates suck and if you're a Support, it sucks even more. But this applies to anyone being stuck with bad players ... you can only do so much. Just trust in your plays and climb man, trust me ... you'll climb up if you're good enough.
