Veigar's Live Stun VS his PBE stun

Probably gonna get some hate for this, but Veigar's old stun had to go, there was no way to dodge it since it may as well have been point and click in the hands of a talented player, and no real counterplay outside of buying 1 of 2 very specific items or taking cleanse. (now lets see how many people read only this sentence and downvote me into oblivion without reading the rest)*

That said, that doesn't mean I think Veigar should be left as he currently is on the PBE, given that the main point of his stun is to allow him to land his W, there many viable options to assist in this; such as an AoE slow on the inside of his cage (so that even if he misses, he still has a decent chance to land W), increasing the AoE of his W could work as well, or even as something as simple as decreasing the delay before the cage walls appear. Any suggestions on how to keep counterplay on his stun, without absolutely destroying it?

Q could also use some buffs (perhaps an increase to the AP given per unit killed?), given that even in the most optimal of situations you only end up JUST BARELY back to the damage he had with DFG previously, obviously Veigar will rarely; if ever achieve that perfect scenario due to the sheer mind boggling amount of CS you would need to get with Q.

*Important to note, It depends on who you ask but, I don't think saying "just buy (insert item here)" should be used as a proof of concept for counterplay VS anyone, otherwise we start straying dangerously close to DotA territory, where you can invalidate a characters entire playstyle with a single item; but without that item you'll feed like crazy, this isn't okay for ANYONE really; not Veigar, not Zed, not Malzahar, not Old Xerath, etc

What do you think of a suggestion someone made in a different thread? (no link, sorry)

The idea was that after it went up, the walls would contract so that targets caught inside would be more and more trapped or be stunned. Something along those lines anyway.
