Riot, you only need to do one thing with lethality.

Ok so everyone is complaining about lethality like it was changed a massive amount. Only the early damage was changed. It was a decent amount but for a good reason. The reason why is because if you weren't named kha'zix or rengar you were weak as hell throughout most of the game unless you got fed. I wouldn't even rush full lethality on an assassin because it just wasn't as good. The reason why lethality is so strong right now is because of more abuse cases just like when armor pen was too strong. Ranged carries are abusing it. That's the main problem. Another problem is that other champions that aren't assassins are also abusing it. So just one thing needs to happen. Make lethality items for the assassin role only. If you go to the champion page in your league client and you filter to assassins, those should be the only ones allowed to use it. Another way would be to make it melee only. ADC's are the main reason armor pen was changed to lethality to begin with, because they aren't assassins so they shouldn't be allowed to build it. We really don't need another case of ranged carries abusing assassin items so just make this change and it fixes later issues that are most likely going to keep happening if this change doesn't happen.

If this isn't a good enough change, please feel free to give your own ideas for what can be done without destroying the assassins these items are meant for. (Other than kha'zix and rengar)
