The new upcoming shield nerfs, almost evey mage support is gonna have a harder time. Its not just the shield decay, its the support items that are way less effective. Despite riot buffing pyke's ad and armor, supports are not a game riot. If you want me to play an assassin support why not Rengar? He has CC and he can 1 shot the adc faster than pyke. Like please, do not ruin the supporting role. [slayer-jinx-unamused]
They don't know what they are doing anymore, I think. Adding another snowballing element as Pyke, and meanwhile nerfing Karma for no reason :D League of Bursts & Oneshots.
Every patch is a surprise... Not a good one.
I don't mind more heroes being able to be played as support, but I'm still surprised that people still don't want the "supportier" mage heroes on their team as supports. No one wants Lux still, yet the 
duo or 
botlane are perfectly fine despite having no supporty abilities at all? I sort of feel like even the not shielding enchanter supports aren't as effective as just dealing raw damage.
I'm fine with lots of possibilities in bot, but I really like the enchanter playstyle and I don't want it to go away. I really feel like I'm just not doing anything worthwhile on Soraka or Nami when the enemy has the high damage mages/assassins/whatever in bot.
While I'm sympathetic, play the hand you're dealt and rolls a tank support. It's actually so underappreciated you can roll teams pretty easy if you have half a clue. The tank doesn't even have to be a legit support. I went Maokai and stomped.
