8/2 in placements = Gold IV???
So last season I ended Gold IV with a normal MMR because I got like 24lp each game. After I finished my placements which ended 8/2 I also got placed in Gold IV again??? Can someone explain me that?

Yes. During the preseason every year now riot does what they call a "soft" reset too everyone's ranked mmr. What this does is compress the mmrs of all players toward an average region (1200 mmr, baseline) the higher ranked you are the more your mmr is compressed toward that baseline. The compression does not extend all the way to the baseline. That would be what was called a "hard" reset which we had in seasons 1 and 2. It caused a lot of chaos and was generally disliked. Now if a player had say, 2000 mmr it might be compressed to about 1600. For a player with 1600 mmr it become 1350. For a master tier 2500 player it will drop you almost down to gold level. Conversely, lower mmr will be compressed upwards. 800 might become 1000. I do not know the exact numbers so don't hold me to the specific examples I've provided. It's just to provide perspective.
Basically the systems expects you to reach a certain ranking after a certain amount of games and estimates how much to compress your mmr. You hit it's estimation right on the nose and got back into gold four. Congratulations, ranked play just wasted 30 minutes x 10 of your life!
