Question about Deathfire Touch

Why does it not scale with your level?

Thunderlord's Decree does, as does Fervor of Battle. All the other capstones are just flat percentages, they are always relevant. Deathfire Touch though... it just does 8 damage. That's it.

I'm not complaining that it's too weak or too strong. I was just looking at all the capstones and was confused why if doesn't seem to scale at all. This is especially so considering that it seemed to be intended for making poking during sieges and the laning phase more painful. Instead, even the pokiest pokers use Thunderlord's instead because it not only does way more damage, but is backed up by Precision's delicious bonus penetration.

So... yea. Why does Deathfire Touch not scale with your level like all the other Capstones?

Because it has better Damage ratio's

it has 60% AP ratio and 50% bonus AD ratio.

So it's a choice between early game damage and late game damage? Because that's actually a pretty cool choice to have.

The Ferocity tree has always been about "late game" where Cunning has always been "Early game"

Cunning was designed for more Assassiny type champions that want large boosts to early game dominance while Ferocity, with it's late game boosts has always been more late game focused.

More generally, Ferocity is "sustained damage" while Cunning is "burst damage."

About Thunderlords - Who takes Precision? IMO I don't know any circumstance where I wouldn't take Intelligence over it.

Oh I just kind of assumed that most people would take the Pen if they were trying to deal damage. A bonus 5% CDR is really good too, though, and another solid reason to get Thunderlord's over Deathfire.

the pen on precision is absurdly strong what if anything other way around, precision is just so good

Well hybrids can do pretty good with it since it fits them, that's usually what I get on them. On champs that don't really need cdr I go with the penetration instead. I guess Lee Sin could use the pen since his E also does magic damage.
