laning vs soraka/anyone is just fucking obnoxious.

if you focus the adc she heals him, if you focus her, the adc will get free damage off. this champion is annoying as hell early game.

She has very little all-in potential. Pick an engage support like Leona, keep the ADC chain stunned and focus her down before they have time to react. If you are trying survive just by winning trades, their lane is going to out-sustain you. Play safe until you and your ADC hit a power spike, then go all in. Preferably when some of their abilities are on cooldown and yours aren't.

No offense but this is just a "wah this annoys me, nerf it" thread to me.

What exactly is different between Raka healing someone or letting their ADC get free damage while you murder her vs say Leona jumping on your ass, stunlocking you for 5 seconds as well as hitting you while the ADC gets free damage and Leona laughs at your damage?

Just seems like a mute point to me. Support are meant to make your jobs harder/easier.

Agree with Cerk... anytime you see a Soraka... pick Leona as Support. You can dive her easy and kill her before the ADC can do much dmg... and if the ADC hangs around, he/she will die too. At level 3 as Leona I usually plan my 1st dive against her... that will draw out her flash if she doesn't die. By level 5/6 you can usually kill her easily unless your ADC is bad.

Whenever I have a bot lane with squishies as support (Karma, Lux, Soraka, etc.) I take Leona. That E, Q, W, than ult combo keeps anyone from escaping without flash.. and even with flash they often die anyway.

Unfair counterpicks happen in blind pick all the time. I'm not gonna complain about Blitz countering my Sona pick because it's just bad luck on my part and wouldn't happen in a draft game unless I was stupid.

Just play tahm kench and eat her.

Problem solved.

Her heal costs her own health, dude.

Focus the adc, and have your support zone Soraka. Engage generally beats sustain, so just engage when the time is right (aka when Soraka is about half health or so) during the laning phase.

Don't play a passive lane against her. Yes, she has options to whatever you do, but you have options to whatever she does. There's no 100% guaranteed way to win any match-up, so keep that in mind.

I don't see how this is different between an adc laning with another adc (for example). If you focus one adc, the other adc gets "free damage" off. As far as I'm aware of, this concept goes for any glassy high-priority champ laning with an adc. The reason it's not an issue is because the marksmen's support in this case is easy to take down (because they're glassy).

It's up to you how much you wanna view that damage as "free" though, because Soraka tanking hits (ie. dying) and a tanky support (Leona) tanking hits mean very different things.

This is the problem - this is why soraka becomes overbearing. Because she gets a free lane phase vs people that don't understand she is VERY weak in lane. Any high damage or hard engage support will work. Braum is probably the best because he can ignore the adc while you both pound the support with his shield. Sona can play her sustain game if she wants but also a great champ to poke this lane because she can hit both targets pretty easy - with no real CC to really prevent her from poking. Blitzcrank Leona Thresh Lulu Karma - all should pretty easily beat soraka in lane.
