Soraka Is she still Viable?

I guess this question goes out to he community. My personal thoughts on this though is that she is not viable anymore. My reasons for this is because RIOT has been doing there best to keep the game engaging by making fighting more important and she kills herself in a fight, her damage is sub par and the only real thing she has is a big heal for team fights. Honestly though if you have Soraka and you make it to the team fight phase I will personally be amazed, because she is a traditional support and when you have her vs ... anybody they can overpower you bot lane with the exception of an extreme poke lane. Now i have seen some amazing Soraka's but I feel like she is in a very unplayable spot right now because she literally kills herself for her laner and thus results in basing for a 2 v 1 or she feeds. Anyhow this is my personal opinion from a ADC standpoint let me know your thoughts.

That why soraka have to position in a way that doesn't expose herself to the dangerous predators out there. essentially instead of having soraka act like a meat shield like Braum soraka should be using their teammates as shields and silencing flanking opponents. It's called protect the soraka, and she's very viable. just not easy OP like thresh/leona ADCs just don't know how to play with this idea and let her die. ADC's health < soraka

Are you kidding? A properly played Soraka lane doesn't lose. They might not win either, but they. Can't. Lose. So the idea of making it to the teamfight phase is a foregone conclusion, and once you're there, she just hangs out behind everyone, out of range, and silences their assassin. The longer the fight goes, the better it goes for your team if the Raka can land even 2 Qs to regain some of her own health. Her ult can completely undo their entire engage, the silence lets your team start a counter, and continue healing their focus....she just requires a lane buddy that understands passive laning and shouldn't be picked into hard engage lane bully situations (though draven doesn't count here, he tells you where to Q for free health to sustain his own bullying)

I find she's a powerful pick when used in a lane against a more pokey lane. She works well with a bursty lane partner or one that has some cc. Ashe/Varus/Jinx are all good partners, since they can stun, then Soraka can silence->snare them and keep her ADC sustained through the trade.

She could use some buffs to her HP/5 or her Q's reliability, but other than that, I think she's a fine champion.

They definitely need to buff her. Her damage is pretty low, so most of the time you just end up running around like a lost chicken behind your ADC while trying to heal them (without getting poked by the enemy). She's pretty squishy, especially with no real way to heal herself (unless you use heal). I found myself dying a lot, mostly because of how her heal drains her own life (making her survivability even harder).
