Hi, i recently started to learn Riven. I've been watching vids and reading guides, but I never really found out what Riven's weakness during laning phase. I'm trying to figure out when I have an advantage in lane and when I don't have an advantage in lane.
MrBuffington2 votesGenerally resourceless champions have an advantage in lane, simply because they don't have to manage a resource. Even champions with weak lanes like Katarina or Akali are difficult to shove out of lane unless you're actively harassing them.
For Riven, she's a pretty snowbally champion, and is pretty lackluster when behind (on the flip side, she's really strong when ahead). Her teamfight also isn't the greatest unless 1. You're really fed, or 2. Your team is good at creating openings for you.
iLoveFeidan2 votesRiven's weakness : Right after using dashes, riven can't do anything against ranged champ.
So better avoid the situation where your last dash goes into their champ and you just get hit for no reason. (Unless you are sure to kill him).
I've been playing annie top against riven, and I've never lost to riven in laning, cuz riven can't hit me ever.
Whenever he dashes, I wait until his shield gone and stun +damage him, riven can't do nothing but run from me.
So you can find Riven weakness from this situation, weak against those champs who can do ranged damage + can run from riven by his mobility or stuns.

with a knock back use that when she ults stay out of her ult range then go in when its done

Knight SoIaire 1 votesriven has very little weaknesses so this will be a short post i think weaknes 1:counterpick her ... riven cant handle her counterpicks weakness 2:cry to your jungler ... especialy if you didnt counteprick her cause riven doesnt lose unless counterpicked ... she snowballs and makes it so you cant defeat her with anything ... but she also falls off harder than others weakness 3: Gank raep her ... preferably in a 5v1 ... this way you reduce the risk of her killing your people and stripping your team off possibilities
riven is a simple champion she depends on having a good matchup .... she is 100% unable to win a bad matchup by herself ... and if she loses she has a hard time getting back
so many times jungler has a big impact in rivens gameplay ... either yours or enemy
if riven snowballs ... dont look for weaknesses ... she is op when she snowballs (an insane amount of sheer power is enought to make your weaknesses unexploitable ... especialy when your damage and shields are tied to mobility and cc ... there is nothing to exploit then) so handle her like an op champion and gang raep her into oblivion ... she will feel op so she might missplay more often
owerall riven is an unfair champion ... others have to play entire games trying to use their strenghts and dont allow enemy to exploit their weaknesses
riven just needs to have a good matchup and place a ward on her lane ... or call a jungler for one succesfull gank (yup ... thats how she wins the bad matchups ... with one kill) ... then her raw power does the rest she is ballanced around matchups... but thats an unfair ballance ... games shouldnt be decided in champion select
still for people who will start a discussion about it couple informations a)i dont call riven to be op or up ... she is ballanced b)but the way she is ballanced is rather toxic and unfair ... especialy in draft mode c)i know that i didnt answer specificaly for op's quesiton ... but i think that this post should be rather a good source of information for him
