Is smurfing against the rules?

I know what you are thinking, yes I understand that it would be EXTREMELY difficult to enforce.

But seriously, is it technically against the rules? I see one in nearly every single game. They truly ruin the game. They are as bad as boosting, so why is it completely allowed? Why can I go on youtube or twitch any time of day and watch some plat/diamond player get his rocks off by mushroom stamping bronze/silver players who are just trying to enjoy their evening, or god forbid, improve their play....?

No, playing on multiple of one's own accounts is not against the rules. Why would it be?

So, why should boosting be against the rules but not smurfing? And I mean the effect on the gameplay, not "oh he didn't earn it" because lets be honest, it has nothing to do with that.. Why would you care what someone's border looks like during a 30 second load screen when compared to a 30 minute game that you actually put effort into. Why, in your mind, is boosting a heinous crime, while smurfing is absolutely 100% just having fun with no ill effects on the community or gameplay?

Unless you mean something else by "boosting" it shouldn't be and isn't. No one is forbidden from queuing with anyone else (in terms of rules).

Owning multiple accounts is the premise around smurfing, its normally done for high elo players to avoid que times (especially for streamers), as you said it would be extremely hard to enforce such a rule. As far as the "low elo" players getting a toxic community because of it, Im sure its not the only source of toxicity in the community they perceive to be in. As far as ruining the game I don't think it has much affect, you can beat anyone if you pay attention to the game. thats really the bottom line. It's not against the rules and I think a lot of players eyes it shouldn't me.

Smurfing is a climbing method that lots of pro players use including Faker making one account getting it as high as u can say plat for instance then making a new account and pushing it to diamond being able to auto pilot through plat and getting more LP on the smurf account. This is why most players smurf not just to stomp shit players. like this r%%%%%ed thread implies.
