Sometimes I really want to play a specific champion and for that I play normals. But a few times a month my own team will ban the champion I have selected so I dodge. Now why am I punished with a wait time after that? Ridiculous.

I'll say it again; you were punished because you dodged, not because your team banned the champion you intended to play. You chose to dodge because you did not get your champion, and that is why you had to wait.
Your team did not cause you to get a wait timer, you did.

My options now are either play a champion I don't intend on playing or dodge and get a wait timer. Either way I'm being punished because someone on my own team banned the champion I had selected. Like seriously dude? All of that is included in my original post btw in case you didn't read it all.

You're choosing to dodge with full knowledge of the dodge penalty. You were punished because you dodged. End of story.
Everything else is extraneous information that does not directly apply to your punishment. That information is why you chose to dodge, but it is not what caused your punishment.
If you don't like this "punishment" then don't dodge and play the queue as it was designed. It really is that simple.
3kmmr1 votesI'm just gonna get to the point here because I thought it was implied. Your own team should not be able to ban the champion you have selected. Bottom line. Regardless of all else said. Your team should NOT be able to ban your champion. You're literally screwing over your own team. If someone selects a certain champion it's likely because they feel comfortable with that champion and had success with it in the past. Also it's very unlikely the enemy team will lock in that champion, getting it before your team mate does. So banning your own team mates champion does nothing but force them to play a champion they did not intend on playing, force them to play a champion they are likely less experienced and comfortable with, and it will likely tilt them.

So you only want your team to be unable to ban a champion when you are first pick on your team and you're hovering darius? how come you're the only one allowed to have this special power?

Someone posed a hypothetical situation where that feature would have a negative impact on the game.
You claimed that situation was a "straw man" which is an unrealistic depiction, meaning that it would not actually show up in your feature.
You gave an example of when your feature would apply and one of the restrictions you placed was that you were the one hovering a champion.
You never specified which parts of your hypothetical represent actual restrictions on the system and which were just coincidences.

I do see it and it does happen. But understand that if neither team bans a certain champion and I have that champion selected to play. It's very very very likely that I'll get to play that champion.

I would say you're wrong. Odds are probably better than 50%, but certainly not "very very very likely" depending on the champ you are intending to pick.

The whole process of getting into select, then champion select and banning isn't exactly a fast process. By you dodging you just wasted the time 9 players spent to get thus far into a match only to make them have to re-queue.
You're basically asking: Why am I getting punished for making the game less enjoyable for others because I'm being selfish and refuse to play any other champion?
3kmmr1 votesI'm selfish because my team banned the champion I was going to play, right. Let me give you some more detail to what happen in my most recent situation. One of my teammates selected lux. The enemy team banned lux. At this point the enemy team banned two of our team's selected champions. Lux then banned my champion and said "now three of us don't get to play what we wan't" My whole team starting flipping out on them but I didn't say a word and just waited for my "lock in" timer to time out.
