So recently ive been playing top a lot, and the only champs i see top is the same teemo or renekton....Every game no matter what teemo or renekton they both counter the champs im dearest too in the top lane. Plus they are ungodly to fight in lane with renektons free trades and teemos...free trades.
Edit:Maybe its elo based, In lower elo goldish(from what all the smurfs i fight tell me) its mainly teemo and renekton
I think top lane is really diverse!
In my last matches, I've seen:
The diversity is honestly what draws me to the lane. So much stuff can go there, and it makes me happy that I get to play so many Champions and fight so many fun Champions.

But in all seriousness people are starting to move away from split pushing top laners to tanks. I'd expect to see less Riven/Jax/Renekton because of how strong tanks are now.
i never see teemo seen a few gators
but usually in my game if im top i always see 
for some reason
When i top i usually go juggernaut like people (Urgot, Sion, ...Soraka)
