Malz - Despite his Power right now, I'm not a fan of his Rework at all

Before this rework, I used to play quite a bit of Malz, and while I can't really lecture on the "Best way to play him before", I can say for certain that he doesn't feel as fun as he used to before.

Before, it felt like there was a bit of strategy to how you would approach placing his DoT's: Like they would apply some pressure on your opponent to position carefully, or get smacked in the face by both his silence and that ability's bounce. His ult, also, to me, felt like it was something best utilized to punish a carry who got too close. Combine the abilities correctly, and you could take out an ADC or a weaker assassin without much issue.

With the damage now having been transfered (in majority) off of those three abilities now to his voidlings, though, and the shield that he now has...

... you can make some pretty egregious positioning mistakes, and be OK with that. ... your other abilities don't really feel as impactful. ... and all you do now is use those ability to guide your voidlings, who mindlessly chase after the person you have DoTted or Q'd, and watch them do all the work for you.

It doesn't feel as "fun". Does it hurt? Absolutely. Is the strength of those voidlings really, really high? Yup.

But that's not what i'm here to talk about. I feel like Malz's playstyle has been changed substantially. He's more mindless to play. His voidlings now do most of the work for him, and that's not enjoyable.

Putting aside conversation of "OP" or "not OP", I think Riot missed the bar here. He feels way too different, and he just isn't fun for me to play anymore because of that :(

My 2 cents.

There's one thing I don't like about his rework, he lost all AOE presence that he had. The new Malz relies on shredding with DoT, old Malz could lay down heavy AOE.
