Good intentions Good intentions. But bad reception... Please don't be disheartened tho.

The angels and devils are in details. More details about ranked. The more we know about ourselves the better. Good intentions.

But, We're inherently more evil than good. (Look how we're destroying the very planet we live on) The system's good intention to better our experience and self-awareness is laudable. The work is well done. But, we're inherently evil and we don't deserve it. People abuse this system. People enjoy hurting other people's feelings by sabotaging other people's effort. People don't want to hurt themselves knowing more about themselves.

Anyhow... I am one of those silent minority that really loves the new system. I am enjoying my new-found love in maining 'fill' position. Now I am confident that whatever position I play. I will not deeply hurt my team's winning potential. I also love a little bit of extra splash bonus I can enjoy from playing 'fill'. Ah, the happiness of life comes from little tiny things.

I don't want the system to go back to the old system. If you really care about the popular opinions and sentiments, I guess you could un-do your work.

But that's just too much of waste of excellent work. I wish we could have a choice. Since positional match making is a statistical success like you said. I wish we could have a choice. A choice whether to stay in positional ranked or go back to all-in-one ranked (btw don't you think being represented by the highest positional rank has an abusing potential...? Average might be better...?)

Those who stay in positional ranked will reap the benefits of positional ranked. Those who go back to all-in-one ranked will reap the benefits of all-in-one ranked.

Can't we co exist? Or do we really have to force each other out?

Can we design a system where people with different opinions can chill out together? Or do we really have to force each other out?

I feel sad being a part of silent minority that love this new change. Keep it up Sir Riot SapMagic. You're a good guy.

Most obvious issue to Positional ranking right now is that people don't feel it's rewarding to play more than one role, and feel like since their other roles don't matter, they can just screw around if they get autofilled.

I'll spare you the long version, but my suggestion to this is to provide positive reinforcement (read: more ranked rewards) for getting multiple positional ranks to gold+ at end of season. This will encourage people to try harder, and earn more rewards.

I too really liked the Ranked Lanes.

The problem was spoiled brat player behavior trolling when they didn't get what they wanted. Deal with the problem behavior, don't axe a great new way of doing ranked just because toxic players were trolling.

There is a simple solution. Give players the option of NOT being autofilled. Even let them pick just one lane if they want. They could be Platinum Mids and Iron everything else if they want. Then when they complain about their long queue times because they refuse to play any other role seriously the rest of us that are happy to play many or any roles can point out that the well balanced player who selects 2 or 3, or even fill roles gets into games in 30 seconds.
