Veigars Current State

Now a lot of you who dont play veigar, or arent aware of his condition currently, you may disagree with what I'm about to say, but Veigar, he needs a buff early.

His mana costs are extremely high for the little amount of damage he puts out early.

I think a mana decrease on his Q from 65 to 50 would be fair enough.

I'm not saying to buff his damage, nor am I saying to lower his CDs, im just saying to lower his early game mana costs.

He's in a really bad spot right now.

Personaly, his only issues is the team fights, if there's an enemy with a gapcloser, he's dead.

Otherwise, he's not that bad, unless you fuck up your early game Q farming.

Thats up to your team to peel and you dont blind pick veigar. Thats like picking veigar into yasuo or zed, or blind picking any other champion.

So thats not his issue.

I once blind picked Veigar against a yasuo... The dummy tower dived me 3 times... 2 of them he died and I lived through all of them...

Point of this story? This one time I was playing urgot adc, and I had 30 kills, 0 deaths. Does that mean urgot adc is good?

This one time I was playing DrMundo mid lane, full ap, and I was 12-0, does that mean its good?

lol...

Was just sharing a story that I found neat when I was playing Veigar. Did you have to go that path? :/

I didnt mean it in a negative light, im just trying to prove my point. Most yasuo players are usually really bad, even though they do counter veigar, considering windwall his q/ult, but the point is... Veigar is weak, even if you win against a yasuo, that doesnt mean naturally veigar beats yasuo, it just means you played better, or had better circumstances than that yauso.

Or that he just kept tower diving like a madman, thinking that his ult is an instakill...

I think is mana cost are pretty balanced, if you only use your Q for farming stacks you can go a pretty long time without running out, also his early game should be weak, cause of his insane late game.

I mean if your enemy is smart theyll know how to zone you out of xp/farm and even if you only farm with q, he will still run out of mana early game. I dont think you play veigar, but thats whatever.

Hes just too punishing right now. Not even worth playing, imo.

Its the same reason you dont see nasus being played much in higher elo.

I don't like it. I always thought of Veigar as a very high instant impact burst champion, with good trade-off (mana costs, cooldown, aka windows of weakness). That's why I didn't like the rework (lowering of manacosts and cooldowns, for less reliability) and I don't think reducing manacosts is the right path. If anything, I'd increase Veigar's reliability (50 more range on Q? stun hits very slightly faster?) at the expense of his spell spammability (manacosts, cd). I think it's just right to have his identity centered on that (high instant impact, do not screw up or you're weak for a long time due to manacosts and cd's), since other mages don't have it that much.

I'm unsure what the right course of action for veigar, but all i know is that he's not good now.
