Daily Tip #1 - When Is Flashing for a Kill Worthwhile?

#Introduction Hello, I am Catffeine, a Gold elo Twitch main making a steady climb through the ladder. Because Riot's in-game tips are rarely useful, I decided to start doing daily tips of things I've learned through my climb and will learn over time. I hope people can find these tips useful in their own climb!

Flashing for a kill is worthwhile if all three of the following conditions are met:

  • The kill is guaranteed.
  • You will not die.
  • You will get an objective out of it.

Exceptions are made on the second condition if and only if your death is absolutely necessary for the team to gain the advantage out of it. For example, a Neeko flashing into the enemy team to get a 5 man ultimate that changes the course of the fight, but dies for it.

Unless the three conditions are true, excluding times where the death is necessary to gain an advantage, do not flash for a kill.

Better to flash for a kill than to waste it trying to avoid an inevitable death.

Depends on other things. Flashing for First Blood (or any kill, even if you’re giving a minor shutdown) only to die under the enemy turret early game is hella worth if your minions are also under their turret.

There are several other situations that don’t meet your three criteria yet it’s still a good idea.
