Anyone else miss Veigar's old kit?

Veigar has always been my go to midlaner for a looooong time. I was originally excited about his rework as I personally cared little about the removal of DFG (My build and playstyle revolved around the late game and by that point DFG did little to help burst faster than I already could) and when I heard he was going to get buffs to improve his farm I was pretty hyped. Veigar currently is just a disappointment for me.

Current Veigar's two BIGGEST problems currently is the delay on his E and the ratio of his ult.

Veigar always struggled against assassin's and AD champions at mid due to his squishiness and the reduced damage of his ult and the rework only made this worse. Veigar has no means of reacting to mid laners like LB, Diana, or Zed because of this delay and if they are quick enough they have plenty of tools to dodge it, and Veigar lost much of his killing potential since the stun is now much harder to land. His ultimate's damage ratio being nerfed also made burst harder in general to do, as Veigar has to throw a lot more at one person to kill them.

And this is mostly a personal thing but I hate Veigar's new Q... It just feels finicky having to constantly line up so minions don't absorb the shot while I'm aiming for another one, yes I know you can get two minions at once but that feels like small compensation for the ability being much more annoying to use. I really didn't get why Rito has to turn EVERYTHING into a skill shot, it just feels unnecessary in some cases.
