Is it just me or is League getting worse?

I have seen this game at its peak and now I am seeing it crash and burn and here is why:

  1. They seem to focus too much on LCS and they don't do a great job with it anyways. It can be set up to be so much better, and create real competition. Although there are separate regions, itd be better for NA LCS, EU LCS, and other regions to all play against each other during season games. In addition, rank them on points in their own separate regions to see which top 2 from each division goes to Championship. This will allow for more competitiveness as players can learn from each other and grow. (Rather than just making the regions clash in the championship and having Koreans usually besting everyone)

  2. Dynamic que could be great. I would much rather choose just my primary and have a longer wait timer than choose primary and secondary and 60% of the time not get my primary role. Also, I have noticed so far is trio and quad ques are just far more toxic than just duo ques. It is so much harder to compete with more people that have a unified mindset. As a solo ranking player, I can't seem to find a game where I am happy to play. I know there has been talks of just solo ladder, but is it ever gonna happen?

  3. They removed team ranked. The only thing I enjoyed was having a unified achievement with me and my 4 close friends. Trying new play styles, implementing them and just feeling good when we win all in a serious environment. Now it is all gone. I don't want to dynamic que for it, because I want to have that unified progression with my friends. I don't understand why it had to be removed.

  4. The fixes made on masteries and champions are never good fixes. They design them in such a way, where it is initially broken and has to be nerfed so hard that it is not viable, but never balanced. To me it makes no sense. If you are going to design something in the first place, actually run tests and a competent pbe community to test things properly before it gets rolled out to the main servers. Your changes happen continually throughout the entire season and I find they are most balanced at the end when everything is over. But guess what? It's all scrapped and remade. Why not have constant masteries? Why not keep the items the way they are? Why fix everything make it all balanced (or as close to balanced as possible) and then redo the whole process?

The original game was great, however, I feel there is too much effort being put on the game being less of a game and more of a show. I am absolutely upset with the way things are as of now. I know many of you will disagree with some points if not all, or agree with me, but this is how I see things. What do you feel is making this game great or bad. I would sincerely like to know.

TL;DR:

  1. LCS poorly designed and doesn't allow true competitiveness
  2. Dynamic que allows for more toxic behavior for solos
  3. They removed team ranked
  4. Game design is always broken on release and PBE is completely useless for testing this. PBE should test the effects the item causes and not just bugs (sort of like a smaller sample size of the entire community).

the champion kit changes are mostly fine. theyre actually getting pretty good at it. reworks fail a lot less than they used to and there are more successful kit reworks than bad ones.

but a lot of what they did this preseason in game mechanics and item changes broke the game pretty heavily.

essence reaver is completely broken, phantom dancers is going to be really op, the assassin item is likely to cause a lot of problems if released. vision changes generally suck (it buffed stealth champions yet again as a side effect), minion snowball mechanics and weaker turrets are terrible, the relative cost decrease of ad carry items to almost all other items is terrible, mana pot removal sucks.

the new mastery trees are interesting, but they still lack. apparantly theyre working on new masteries though. especially resolve is so crappy that even fighters and tanks often go cunning or ferocity instead. there is 1 keystone in that tree that can keep up the the cunning and ferocity keystones and thats grasp of the undying. otherwise there is no real reason to go into the tree at all.

the only good parts of the preseason changes i can think of is rift herald as an interesting new addition to the game, and the fact that theyre attemtping to make hybrid champs more of a thing again.

marksmen diversity is in principle not bad either, if they also open up the duo lane to other classes now and give melees more of a chance to not just get poked to shit in solo lanes vs marksmen.

because otherwise we have the marksman domincance right now, being played in 2 or 3 lanes on the same team, which caused assassins and burst to become another dominant factor.

This game will always remain in a state of flux.

They will never sit back and say "AH! WE DID IT! EVERYONE KICK BACK AND ENJOY THE SWEET GAME WE MADE!"

Why?

Because you would get bored and go play something else.

So this game will forever be unbalanced in new and interesting (sometimes painful) ways to keep your attention.

Every match is around an hour long with little reward at the end.

As a very new player, people tend to get bored from what I've noticed from previous games is when you've been playing to long.

Try taking a break, also TL;dr would be nice. :p
