Brutalizer -> Hydra -> IE with cooldown boots as core build, maybe picking up a Doran's Blade at some point along the way (cus u really can't go wrong with Doran's Blade) -- your goal in lane is to survive and destroy the enemy with all-in burst, and your goal in teamfights is obviously to subtly kill the enemy ADC in less than 1 second

If it works for you, sure, go for it, but I can't see how he would survive vs literally any mage mid.

Renekton is good as a counterpick to AD champs, but see, if you wanted to counterpick skillshot burst mages or AD assassins with a bruiser mid, there's far more high impact champs than Renekton, such as J4, Master Yi or Nautilus.
