Is this the kind of matchmaking I have to look forward to in Ranked? 3 Golds vs 3 Silvers+Unranked?

This game was an absolute nightmare to play through, almost hit the 50 minute mark just because of how bad some of the players on my side were.

Teemo Unranked (Me, 1st time in Ranked) Nocturne Zilean Nami Silver Tristana Gold

#Their Team:

Azir Lux Silver Darius Gragas Draven Gold

Is this the kind of shit I'm going to be seeing in Ranked? Should I even bother when it's that lopsided and nightmarish?

TIER ≠ MMR

You are not downgraded until you reach Tier4 of the next lower devision.

If you are Plat5 for example and lose a lot, you stay in Plat until your MMR is Gold4.

On the other hand: if you are on a win streak your MMR can be Gold5 but you are actually in Silver 1.

With this system, the game can check if your skill is better than your real rank and can give you more points so you can climb faster until you reach your real skill-cap.

Most unfairly matched games are done in 20

Well on the upside, a game like that will do wonders for your MMR. Keep it up and you'll go straight to Gold.

All hovering around the same elo. A Gold V isn’t very different from a Silver I and so on.

If it's your first time in Ranked, you will be matched with players of differing skill levels so they get a feel for your skill level. I played against Plats my first time.

just wait til you get placed, then you'll be silver dealing with plats on the enemies with low gold / medium silvers on your team [slayer-jinx-catface] double the fun!
