Urgot is a lot like Malzahar.
He's so shit, he's actually better in the support role than anything else.

My opinion is his best position is top.
Urgot's Ult is one of the stupidest ults in the world.
If Riot wanted to "FIX" Urgot, and still keep the Ult's Mechanic then they need to give him a big defensive shield during his ult.
So basically, he would "SWAP" with the enemy, and then sort of Shield himself momentarily from huge damage... so he has a chance to make it back to where he was originally.
Malzahar's Ult faces a different challenge. It is ruined by any form of CC, interrupt or QSS, and that also includes negating the Ult's damage.
If Riot wanted to "Fix" that, Upon breaking the suppression of the ult, the Tether would simply "SLOW" for the remainder of the ult.
He's a little mana-hungry but top-lane urgot wrecks the majority of melee top laners I've seen him go up against.
