Azir as a bot lane apc
TL:DR =
functions as a bot lane ap equivalent as an adc. If reworked into an bot lane apc he wouldn't take much adjustment to be a solid pick.
Alright. So this is a concept that I've borrowed from Smite as a possible new direction fix for Azir.
In Smite the Gods Chronus and Sol are both magic damage based Gods that build attack speed or have attack speed steroids in their kits that allow them to essentially be a magic damage adc (atk speed steroid, damage, some mobiity/utlity). Now I have no idea of the meta for Smite but I do know that Sol was pretty strong when she first released and was in their tournament scene. So this type of champion model has merit to it.
Back to League let's look at Azir. What is he? He's a long range, auto attacked based dps champion who requires excellent positioning to be effective. Sounds like an adc in a nutshell. Azir has the base for an ap adc already in his current kit. His build even mirrors an adc build (nashors = crit/atk speed item, rylais = IE spike, void/deathcap = last whisper/raw damage). He even builds greaves at higher elos.
I've played with Azir as an adc a few times and the laning is a little difficult until you purchase stinger but once he has that his trades get favorable. He functions well with good lock down supports who can make it easier for him to land qs and autos for a burst trade with thunderlords.
Max q for the damage and the slow, building atk speed (nashors/greaves) in lane and then max w afterwards for a secondary spike in the mid game. He would function as a long range adc who can be an ap threat when you have an ad mid like an assassin or Varus/Jayce.
Even his E and ult function well, E as an escape and ult as a get off me move, when the support has already engaged. The problem with that is the shurima shuffle does not mesh with Azir. Honestly it never has meshed with Azir no matter how cool it is.
But what do you guys think of this concept? Has anyone else tried it?
