Bard can't do much in team fights

So I have been playing Bard for awhile now and so far im doing ok during the early to mid phases. In team fight situations after Bard has used his ult all he has is his Q which if you miss leaves you just running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Yes his Q requires skill shots but half the time with all the movement and people hitting you from afar its hard to land! Also I feel like once I reach late game my heals become useless. In team fights all they really do is give a little speed boots because the healing doesn't count for much. Unlike other supports who can offer more in team fights like bard seems to be lacking. He also needs some kind of armor or something because once someone targets you its 100% K.O. in most situations even if you try to escape. I really do like Bard and enjoy playing him but I just feel some changes need to be made. Maybe give his Q some range or change the stun, or something . I love ya
