  1. You don't get to pick my champion. Need a tank, top/jg can pick a tank instead of playing their glass cannon.
  2. You don't get to select my items.
  3. The ADC doesn't own me, I can wander to help other lanes. If I'm gone, play safe.
  4. If you're dead, it's most likely your fault, play better don't blame me.

  1. If the top and jungler had pick priority and they have both picked non-tanks, be a team player and pick a tank. If you the top/jungler is picking after you, they should do the same.

  2. If you don't have a key item that the team needs they we have every right to suggest you get that item. Same as you have the right to suggest items to us if we over look something.

  3. Agreed. You're a support from the team, not the ADC's bodyguard.

  4. Pretty much.

Had to nitpick at 1 and 2 slightly :P

This thread basically summarizes why i hate supporting. All these toxic carries think they know better than you how to play you role or your champion. Sad thing that support is my main role.

I don't give a flying skarl if you go AP Alistar just get a sightstone.

Kei1437/28/2016, 1:22:46 PM19 votes

if i'm first pick, i'll play what i please.

if I'm latter in the draft, I'll pick what the team needs.

Serpents Embrace7/28/2016, 3:16:59 PM17 votes

You're under the same obligation as top and jungle to pick what suits the team. And, unfortunately, those top and junglers are thinking the same thing. That you and the other role capable of picking tankier options should do it instead of them. If all three of you can't communicate enough to get even one initiator champion then you're all just plain bad and you can't pin it on top/jg exclusively.

I'll agree with you on the items thing, I've had SS-less supports do more work and ward more than ones I've had with SS. If you're getting the job done then you can do it how you want.

They don't own you but they still rely on you. If you don't give them warning about when you're roaming, you're very much at fault for them being 2v1'd. When you show your face mid they will go for your ADC, even under tower if they're able. And if you haven't communicated to your ADC that you are leaving...you're a bad support. :\ That's just how that is.

My personal fave is when the rest of the team has taken: no hard CC no AP no tank

And they expect you to actually fill all that as the supp.

Castman7/28/2016, 6:25:44 PM7 votes

Supports are fking amazing man you guys make the entire team look good I love you guys. When I'm jungler sometimes I give blue to the supports fk mid. People keep telling me mid will make better use of blue but they make me regret my decision quite often (they think with blue they're gods for some reason and ending up giving blue to the other team going 1vs5). However everytime I give blue to the supports we freakin win and win hard. They make great use and full advantage of it. Not to mention it helps them better at keeping the ADCs alive. I never regret it.

Yo supports ily yall lit af

  1. isn't exactly true... If you say that, why couldn't the other 2 say the exact same thing? And then the team has no Tank at all. There need to be a dialogue, you can't just say "You don't get to pick my champ." But on the other hand, a dialogue isn't "dumb sup, take a fuckin' Tank", either.
  2. I 99% agree, with the reservation that if you make something obviously stupid, I'll suggest something better, just like for any other role, that's not specific to support. If you don't take a Sighstone, I'll politely ask you to do it. And if you still don't do it, I'll report you for lack of communication in the end. If you have already 3 full items and no Aegis, and they have 3 AP in their team, I'll ask you to buy one ASAP. The same way I'll ask an ADC to build en Executioner Calling if they have Mundo Vlad and Swain.
  3. again 99% agree, but there are also wrong times to wander to help other lanes, and maybe the ADC is right to complain. Best thing to do is to ping and communicate what you plan to do before actually doing it.
  4. Mostly agree, but in a 2v2 fight, the one dead isn't necessarily the one that made a mistake. How often do you willingly sacrifice in order to save your ADC when HE did a mistake and you did nothing wrong? Still you're dead, he's not. Should you really "play better" and say nothing to him? Well, sometimes he can be dead because you made a mistake too, and blaming you is not helpful, but talking about it sure would help you improve too.

as someone who plays morg support i would like this throw this in...

Just because you have a Morgana on your team doesn't mean you are suddenly immune to CC all game. it has a cooldown.. it has a range. and when you go in like an idiot when i am not expecting you to do something so stupid, i may not always land the spellshield in time to get your ass out of there before you get yourself killed

OurLestrade7/28/2016, 12:07:47 PM6 votes

Thankfully I enjoy playing support tanks, because 90% of the time it's Yasuo top, Zed mid, an assassin jungle and the ADC. When everyone's gone AD and there's no tanks besides me? That's when I get a bit grumpy.

Kal Vas Flam7/28/2016, 1:19:38 PM6 votes

I hate playing tank supports, they scale so slow. Top and jg tanks are usually more efficient. Supports really need to be playing caster play-maker types most the time. Ali, Naut, and Braum work OK as they both scale off health well and Blitz and Tresh are good cheese picks if you're good with them. Leo will always be a sad girl until she gets some kind of health scaling or earlier armor items that don't stray her too far from supp tank items.

Usually though if you want peel just play a caster with disengage and you don't have to worry about trying to tank a fed enemy carry while being 2 levels and 5000 gold behind.

5.) It is not my responsibility to have 100% of the wards on the map, you have to ward too

GankLord7/28/2016, 3:42:20 PM6 votes

However are you actually going to pick a real support or are you lowkey trying to apc. I see that so often and it pisses me off because supports are very important to a team. We don't need an sub-par midlaner bot.

BLACK REALM GOD7/28/2016, 5:28:47 PM6 votes

Next time I play support I'm going to remember this thread and do everything it says but in reverse just to see how it goes. "buy wits end adc it really helps my damage" "adc you should pick a marksmen with AP since it benefits more from my magic debuff" "don't leave me adc wtf. Dragon didn't need you. I needed you. How am I supposed to take tower without you?" "stupid adc didn't buy bloodthirster first. What an idiot. GG everyone GG. Adc went critical and penetration. No damage or sustain. Can't take a single Q from nidalee GG!"

I love when i get support and i hover over Janna or Zyra or Morgana, and the toplaner and jungler on my team decide to pick kha'zix and riven then tell me i need to play Leona or Braum so we have a tank. like are you forreal i just hovered over janna for the full duration of this champ select and you didnt say nothin.

"i main support, and...i care more about proclaiming my rights to play however i want because i know nobody can say or do otherwise. this is the only place my statements have any validation because i have no responsibilities irl and my outlandish hipster lifestyle and outspoken video game activism goes largely unnoticed when i protest for these 4 basic rights to passer-bys"

  1. If the other picks get to pick any champ they want to play so does the support. Once again the team is being selfish and expecting the support to pick of the slack or be blamed for it. Its everyone's responsibility to pick a proper team comp, whatever it may be. This is a TEAM GAME.
  2. It is everyone's responsibility to provide vision. NO ONE IS SPECIAL IN THIS REGARD. Ideally laners are responsible for their lanes and near by objectives. Jungler is to help warding objectives and vital camps.
  3. A support has a limited income with not taking cs from the cry baby adc or kills from the team. A support only has 3 free item slots to get items after item 1001 item 2049 item 3092 or other gold income item. Typically I expect a support to be able to get a item 3190 item 3060 or item 3143 item 3110 but not all. Everyone needs to build for /against the enemy team comps.
  4. THIS IS A TEAM GAME, I AM NO ONES BITCH! We win as a team its my job as a support to support the team. This means if i wonder to mid to secure a turret the damn ADC needs to use their item 3361 and be safe.
  5. Respect your support the reason why you won lane and carried the game just might be them and not you. its not like they dont have 22 asst by afking in base.
  6. I am not your safety net for being stupid. Make smart decisions. Mistakes happen we all do it, yes i got caught and died 1 vs 3 TRYING TO WARD!
  7. Realize if I get in the way and become a human meat shield so your squishy out of position ass dont die and I sacrifice my life for yours dont flame me. I could of let you die which would lead in you have less experience , items, gold. I could be robot nunu and spam laugh when you die.
  8. I know i cant win the game with out you and but chances are you wont carry with me and think you are a god as league of legends.

You forgot one: 5. If you're playing a god ADC with a God complex, don't bitch at me because I may not be a ranked gold+ Karma to your Ezreal or Vayne, and complain that I am not feeding you kills when I had their support ready to be killed three times and you did nothing.

Naag One7/29/2016, 6:47:25 AM1 votes

From 1 alone, the attitude makes you seem like a shitty support player, regardless of if you main it or not.
You sound like those kill hungry brand/vel'koz supports I keep seeing in my games frequently, who not only suck hard in game and add nothing useful to team ending up in a loss but won't forget to mention how much damage they did in post game chat

One thing i learned new in this season. If i take a tank toplane like my team tells me to do, I won't be able to deal with that monster carry they fed the whole game. Nothing deals with a fed carry better than Gangplank :d
