@Meddler We Need to Talk About ZzRot & Banner

Lucifer··15 votes·1,301 views

Are these items filling the strategic niche you intended? Because they feel frustrating as fuck to play against right now. The constant minion pressure is insane, and it feels like the only way to deal with this is to build a banner and Zzrot of your own. It doesn't help that ZzRot in particular is hyper stat efficient even without the passive. Are there plans to tone these down?

What? Zz'rot portal isn't even 100% gold efficient, much less "hyper stat efficient."

You want "hyper stat efficient"? That's Hexdrinker, with a 170% gold efficiency overall. And it also scales multiplicatively with both health (from all sources including base ) AND mr. Oh and the item it upgrades to also has 170% gold efficiency and scales even harder off of any other MR you might have (from runes or maybe an Aegis on your team)

That's more of a problem as far as gold efficiency goes than Zz'rot portal lmfao.

60 armor = 1200 Gold 60 magic resistance = 1080 Gold 125% base health regeneration = 375 Gold Total Gold Value = 2655 Gold

Aazzlano1 votes

and how much does the item cost for its 2655 worth of stats.

Lucifer1 votes

2700 gold. Which makes it 99% gold efficient before it's passive and active are calculated.

Partholonian2 votes

...which is pretty awful. The cost of stats is calculated based on the least efficient items in the game. Most advanced items are over 100% without counting their unique passives and/or actives. IIRC some are over 150%.

Lucifer1 votes

No it isn't, not considering how much the active and passive are worth. For reference, Rabadon's Deathcap, another advanced item, is about 90% cost efficient without its passive. Void Staff is only about 65% efficient without its passive. Infinity edge is about 85% efficient without its passive.

AP items all recently got gutted. They went up by hundreds of gold and some had stats reduced as well. There are a few outliers like RoA but comparing it's "99% hyper gold efficiency!!!" to the gutted AP items isn't really proving anything other than how sad the state of AP itemization is.

Zz'rot portal's strengths are not in its cost or gold efficiency.

How much move speed does the portal have?

MilfHuntUnitM1T3 votes

Walking up to that Zz'rot and smacking it a few times is hard rite?

I think you're more concerned with the movespeed it offers, which can act as a second pair of boots of swiftness in extreme cases.

Lucifer5 votes

Except when it's placed strategically so that you can get nowhere near it at all (or you're behind, so it's incredibly dangerous to clear it).

MilfHuntUnitM1T3 votes

When somebody is there clearing the lane it is relatively easy to prevent the voidlings from getting on your towers.. Unless you have nasty waveclear it's merely a splitpush presence when nobody is there to defend the lane.

Lucifer3 votes

They push over time, not instantly. If you can't clear the Zzrot, it means the lane is constantly pressured, even with no one there. Even if you do have wave clear, it's very difficult to deal with when behind.

Might as well just downvote all your replies too since you aren't making sense of why it is overpowered. It does what it's designed to do and if you can't deal with it then you should quit League.

I clarified why it's too strong right now. It's gold efficient even without the passive. It creates constant lane pressure that is nearly impossible to deal with (especially if you place one next to a turret) On tanks the item is insane. You split push with it, and the second a team fight starts, you just put down your portal and TP to the fight. You always have pressure with it.

Not to be a dick, but you're level 23 without much game experience at all. You probably don't know what you're talking about when it comes to items or champions being overtuned.

Sounds more like a game pacing issue rather than the items being a problem. Riot should ease up on the minions gaining damage when a team is ahead.

The main issue with banner is it excludes magic damage based champions from conducting a hands on split push, as if it was not bad enough that they are already worse at killing turrets unless their kits are specially designed to make them better at it. The magic damage immunity should only be reduced magic damage unless they are in the range of the aura of item 3105 item 3060 item 3190 from an allied hero (retaining the effect current effect if it is used in a lane being actively pushed to negate most wave clear).

For item 3512 it is a matter of how careful the user has to make sure it is safe for long enough to provide the appropriate window of map pressure. If it becomes clear that it is too hard to mess up, then it should be made easier to deal with if you can reach it due to being insufficiently safe. I would suggest making it lose a % of its max HP on void spawn so that damage to it will reduce the number of void spawn remaining even if it is not killed out right so that taking the risk of moving up to attack it more reliably is rewarding.

They feel overbearing because right now siege and split pushing are far and away the best strategies because death timers being a minute long around 30 minutes makes any teamfighting comp, such as the wombo combo, protect the carry, or other traditional aggressive comp WAY to risky to be worth it, and so these items that have always been good for split push and siege comps are now all over the place.

Banner is fine...ZZrot isn.t

Lucifer1 votes

I'm honestly not sure how to feel about banner. I think the problem might be how well it syncs with ZzRot and how much MR and split push potential that combo is giving.

TNHA Baritone1 votes

Im just being biased cause I'm a support main and it's one of my fav items XDD

I wish ZZ'rots counted as CS (when you kill the individual ones)

it would make enemies think twice

Lol. That full build 0/5/0 Udyr though.

It is better to buff another tank items that promote interactivity because they were nerfed several times for no reason at all instead of nerfing zzrot. The item doesn't give any health
